Position Title: Partnership Coordinator

Position Summary
Pact is seeking an experienced Partnership Coordinator to assist in the coordination and implementation of activities under the Lower Mekong Initiative’s Sustainable Infrastructure Partnership (SIP), a project to improve infrastructure sustainability in the Mekong sub-region through complimentary capacity-building activities (workshops, trainings) coordinated with regional donors. The Partnership Coordinator will work with government Ministries in the Lower Mekong region countries of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam to identify training opportunities for officials on environmental and infrastructure related topics and will help coordinate activities and organize events designed to better harmonize activities of the Friends of the Lower Mekong (FLM). The FLM are regional donors and development partners who are working to build capacity and understanding on sustainable development opportunities for economic growth across the Mekong Region, and include Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Japan, the European Union, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank, with the ASEAN Secretariat and the Mekong River Commission as FLM observers. The Partnership Coordinator will be involved in organizational strategy, project planning, meeting logistics, and other management activities. S/he may also work collaboratively with and support other project teams at Pact.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with high level officials from government ministries and other organizations, including development partners and donor organizations. S/he should be outgoing, well organized, a team player, exhibit a high level of professionalism, and be knowledgeable about environmental governance issues in the Lower Mekong region. Occasional regional travel to Lower Mekong countries is required with this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage activities related to donor coordination, meeting planning, policy development, and engagement with government stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with other team members and partners in the development of donor coordination and communication mechanisms.
Analyze donor and development partner activities and find ways to better harmonize those activities.
Meet with government officials to assess needs and plan appropriate activities.
Maintain and expand strong working relationships and coordination with partner organizations, project stakeholders, and counterparts at other international organizations.
Participate in program monitoring, evaluating, and periodic progress reporting.
Identify the need and potential opportunities for additional technical support to help advance the overall project objectives.
Engage and manage event speakers and expert consultants as necessary.
Serve as a Pact’s point of contact to ministries and international donors.
Promote integration across Pact’s programs.
Organize and manage operations and administration of regional training events and workshops.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements:
Experience in partnership building, particularly in the environmental/natural resource management sector in Southeast Asia, or experience with projects of similar scope.
A graduate degree (Master’s Degree or higher) in a relevant field of study.
Proven ability to communicate, coordinate and effectively facilitate dialogue with diverse stakeholders, including government officials and others.
Proven ability to establish, sustain, and advance interpersonal and professional relationships with government agencies, development partners and donor organizations, and international and national NGOs.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong project management and coordination skills.
Ability to serve as a strong team player.
Fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in a local Mekong language.
Knowledge of the political, social, cultural, environmental, and development context of the Lower Mekong region.
