Accounting Intern

The Accounting Intern will support Compassion International’s Finance and Accounting team in maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with day-to-day accounting activities. The role provides practical exposure to nonprofit accounting, financial reporting, documentation, and internal controls. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop practical accounting skills, and learn about financial operations within a nonprofit organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with recording and organizing financial transactions and supporting documents.
• Help review receipts, invoices, and other accounting documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist in preparing financial reports, schedules, and reconciliations.
• Support filing, documentation, and other administrative accounting tasks.
• Assist the Finance team in data entry and basic analysis.
• Perform other finance and accounting tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and willing to learn.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Demonstrates integrity and a commitment to Compassion International’s mission and values.

Internship Information:

• This is an unpaid internship and does not include a salary or allowance.
• The selected intern will gain valuable hands-on experience, practical knowledge of accounting and finance processes, and exposure to financial operations within an international nonprofit organization.
