Your Mission

BDF is currently seeking a Communications and Social Media Manager to strengthen Baan Dek Foundation’s visibility and impact, with a particular focus on promoting the Building Social Impact (BSI) Initiative. This role leads the Communications team and collaborates with all departments to deliver high-quality communications, marketing, and design outputs that support the organization’s priorities. This position will work within the Partnerships and Communications department at BDF, under the direct supervision of the Director of Partnerships and Communications, based in Bangkok, Thailand.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title:                              Communications and Social Media Manager
Type of Contract:                Full-time employment position for 1-year (with possibility of extension)
Department:                        Partnerships and Communications
Location:                              Bangkok, Thailand
Expected Start Date:           ASAP


The main responsibilities of the Employee and will include, but are not restricted to the following:

1. Coordinate all internal and external communication responsibilities

  • Develop, clarify, and implement BDF’s Communications Strategy and annual Communications plan.

  • Ensure consistency of tone, branding, and messaging across all communication channels.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to create effective communication materials.

  • Research, draft, edit, and finalize content in English and Thai, ensuring accuracy and quality.

  • Track and approve departmental invoices in collaboration with the Finance and HR/ Admin teams.

2. Communications and Digital Marketing
  • Translate organizational priorities into clear communication goals, strategies, and campaigns.

  • Manage and maintain websites for all of BDF’s entities, including the BSI Initiative and BDF’s spin-off social enterprise, Dao Ethical Gifts. 

  • Plan and implement integrated communication campaigns, events, and webinars.

  • Produce and oversee high-quality marketing content, including writing, editing, and photography coordination.

3. Managing Social Media

  • Manage and grow social media platforms for BDF, BSI Initiative, and Dao Ethical Gifts.

  • Develop and execute social media strategies and content calendars. 

  • Prepare, design, and publish engaging content in coordination with the Communications team. 

  • Actively engage with online audiences to increase visibility and participation. 

  • Monitor, analyze, and improve social media performance, including managing ads/campaigns when required. 

4. Design and Creative Production 
  • Lead the design and production of communication assets, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.

  • Apply strong graphic design and multimedia skills using Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Develop high-quality visual materials, including infographics, reports, presentations, and marketing collateral.

  • Apply strong graphic design skills to elevate the visual identity of BDF, BSI Initiative, and Dao Ethical Gifts.

  • Edit and deliver videos and create multimedia content for campaigns and events in a timely manner and with high quality.

  • Collect and curate photos and video footage for use across platforms.

  • Lead content collection in the field (including photography and videography coordination).

5. Team Management 
  • Supervise the Communications team, interns, volunteers, and external collaborators.

  • Set clear priorities, provide constructive feedback, and ensure professional growth.

 
Your Profile

Qualifications:

  • Nationality: Thai national or native Thai speaker with professional-level English fluency (C1 Level or above).

  • Language requirements: Excellent command of Thai and English, both written and spoken, with the ability to proofread and present confidently in both languages.

Education/ Experience:  

  • Studies: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, or a related field. Equivalent progressive work experience will also be considered. 

  • Technical skills: Full command of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and strong knowledge of website content management systems (WordPress or equivalent) and digital tools. As well as the understanding of social media analytics, SEO, and digital advertising tools.

  • Proficiency in photography and videography using DSLR or mirrorless cameras: Including, but not limited to shooting in the field and managing post-production tasks, ensuring all visual and communication assets meet organizational standards.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in communications, digital marketing, or graphic design, with proven ability to develop and implement communication strategies.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
