“Entrepreneurship Refreshing workshops consultant”

The Youth Entrepreneurship Development Programme (YEDP)

 

1. GENERAL BACKGROUND

The Youth Entrepreneurship Development Programme (YEDP), a collaborative initiative by Plan International Thailand and Accenture Thailand, aims to empower 120 incarcerated youth from three different Juvenile Vocational Training Centers (Lopburi, Nakhonratchasima, and Chiang Mai) with entrepreneurship skills. The programme not only focuses on enhancing their business skills but also emphasizes life skills and gender equality. The incorporation of a gender transformative approach is crucial as it protects youth away from gender-based violence and promotes principles of gender equity.

Implemented across three centers, the programme has successfully completed training modules addressed to the specific needs and capabilities of each cohort. For this reason, to strengthen youth’s capacity and create a sustainability in the project. The project team would like to propose an Entrepreneurship Refreshing workshop. This event will give opportunities to children and youth representatives to learn more about business insights and how to run their own business smoothly and effectively. 

 

2. OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

  1. To enhance targeted CAY' understanding of essential business concepts through interactive activities, practical simulations, and real-life examples
  2. To inspire incarcerated youth by sharing successful entrepreneurial stories and providing opportunities for networking and personal reflection
  3. To familiarize the targeted CAY with basic digital marketing concepts and tools, and enable them to apply these skills

 

3. SCOPE OF WORK:

3.1 Design the training under the topics of Youth Entrepreneurship

3.2 Conduct training in the 3 JVTCs.

Lead activities for 40 youth/10 JVTC staff/JVTC (3 JVTCs: Lopburi, Nakhonratchasima and Chiang Mai)

1-15 Sep 2024

3.3 Conduct follow-up sessions after the training

Co-design with the project team

16 Sep – 15 Oct 2024

3.4 Submit a final summary report

Prepare a comprehensive report:

  1. Results of trainings in 3 JVTCs
  2. CAY capacities assessment
  3. Findings and suggestions
  1. Oct 2024

 

4. ETHICS AND CHILD SAFEGUARDING

The consultant must commit to ensure that the rights of those participating in activities are respected and protected, in accordance with Plan International's Ethical Framework and Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy. The personal data of the respondents will be kept as confidential and will not publicize. For this reason, Plan International’s team will provide additional documents or clarifications as needed for consultants to better understand and able to align with the expected standards. The consultant needs to abide by Plan International’s Child Safeguarding policy and your approval by a signature is required.

 

5. DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT: 

1 September – 20 October 2024

 

6. QUALIFICATION:

  1. Master’s degree or higher education in a related subject, preferably development, social work, gender issues, child or youth related studies
  2. Able to effectively transfer Knowledge and understanding how-to delivery effective training, preferably business skills
  3. Facilitation experience required, and those experienced in educating children or youth will be given special consideration
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Demonstrate technical expertise on process design.

  • Proven record of related experience or a similar work
  • Detailed budget, including daily fee rates, expenses, etc.
