Background/IRC Summary: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC is at work in over 40 countries and 26 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities. The IRC has been operating in Thailand since 1975 and currently provides assistance to displaced persons in Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Mae Hong Son provinces.
Job Overview/Summary: The Proposal Writer will lead the writing of a compelling bid (proposal) for IRC Thailand in response to the notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) for NGO programs benefiting Burmese refugees along the Thailand-Burma border issued by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM).
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Proposal Writer will work closely with the IRC Thailand project team (led by the Senior Awards Management Coordinator, supported by the Deputy Director of Programs, Finance Lead, and relevant IRC technical advisor(s). The Proposal Writer will develop a strong and competitive narrative proposal that adheres to relevant international standards and meets all the requirements and selection criteria specified in the NOFO. The narrative proposal must not exceed 15 pages in length and must include objectives and indicators for the program period. The proposal must focus on outcome or impact indicators as much as possible. At a minimum, each objective should have one outcome and impact indicator.
