Terms of Reference for Event Organiser to organize the Ethnic Community Products Fair & Showcase
1. Introduction
Plan International is an international non-governmental organization with a vision to see every child in the world thriving in a dignified society. We collaborate with families, communities, and governments, and other partner organizations to ensure that all children have the right to survival, protection, development, and participation. Plan International Thailand has initiated 3 projects that play a role in promoting career development for young people are as follows; 1) The "Building a local eco-tourism network of community-based enterprises for Thailand’s post-COVID-19 economic recovery" project (Futuremakers). 2) We Belong: #Status (Safeguarding through Transition &collaborative Action towards Thailand's Unresolved Statelessness) for unregistered Children and Youth at risk (Cycle for Plan project) 3) Digital Entreprenueship for Ethnic Communities in Thailand (DEEC). These projects focus on development of quality of life for marginalized people consist of ethnic people, stateless youth who are only recognized in the education system as G-coded students.
These projects aim to create impact in the following areas: Economic stability for young people: The projects aim to reduce the vulnerability of young people to exploitation due to challenges in their economic status. Gender transformative approach: The projects adapt a gender transformative approach that is not only to improve women's access to key resources but also to help communities understand and challenge the social norms that perpetuate inequalities between men and women. Policy advocacy: The projects provide young people with a space to present policy proposals. Cultural expression: The projects create a platform for young people to express themselves culturally and share their perspectives with the public.
These projects focus on build and develop entrepreneurial skills. The project implements in 52 communities based in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Mae Hong Son, Nan, Phayao, and Uthai Thani provinces with young people as target participants, who from several ethnic groups participates such as the Lahu, Akha, Dara-ang, Kachin, Hmong, Mein, Mlabri, Shan and Karen people. Finally, each community has been developed to be local enterprises to sustain their business cycle with learning-by-doing. There are variety of products and services such as homestay, camping, natural attraction tours, and community products; weaving, embroidered fabrics, dried fruits, dried fish, chili paste, herbal products, etc. Moreover, these project focuses on developing skills that are essential for working in the current era, including digital skills and management skills. It also emphasizes the development of specific career skills according to the needs of the community.
Currently, these community enterprises have been working hard to develop innovative products and services that reflect the unique culture and traditions of their communities. These products and services have the potential to be a valuable source of income for local communities, but they need to be promoted in order to reach a wider audience.
Plan International Thailand is looking for an event organizer to help with the organization of the Ethnic Community Products Fair & Showcase. The event will be held as part of the Sunday Walking Street Chiang Mai event, which is a popular tourist attraction. The event will also be a great opportunity for community enterprises to learn from each other and share best practices. By working together, community enterprises can strengthen their position in the marketplace and create a more sustainable future for their communities.

6. Payment
The project divides payments into two phases, which are as follows: The first payment is 30% of the total budget, the final payment is 65 %. The Plan International Thailand will deduct 3% withholding tax according to the Revenue Department rules.

Kindly be informed that only shortlisted candidates will be notified within 5 working days after the closing date. Only short-listed candidates will be contacted. Selection of the consultants will be done through proposal reviews and candidate interviews.
