Thailand Country Representative

About Our Organisation:
We are a Hong Kong-registered charitable foundation that supports climate change and environmental initiatives that deliver social benefits. Our efforts focus on South-South cooperationacross Asia. We have deployed over 100 grants in the last 20+ years.
We are seeking an experienced grants professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing our grantmaking activities, with a specific focus on building and nurturing relationships with grantees in Thailand and across South East Asia. The candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and supporting projects that align with our Foundation's mission.
Location: Based in Thailand with flexible work arrangements
Job Description:
1. Strategic Grantmaking
• With senior team develop and implement a grantmaking strategy for Thailand aligned with the Foundation's mission and goals.
• Identify potential grantees and projects that address environmental, conservation, and climate issues in Thailand and across South East Asia.
• Research to analyse the Asian landscape, success cases and factors as well as identify where climate and environmental impact can be made at scale.
• Alongside regional team Develop opportunities for cross-border exchange with grantees working across different countries.
2. Grant Management: Manage grant-making, funding applications, and monitoring of project grants end-to-end.
Grant Proposal
• Review and evaluate grant proposals from Thailand and South Eash Asia for alignment with Foundation priorities, feasibility, and potential impact.
• Conduct due diligence on prospective grantees, including site visits and assessment of organisational capacities.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
• Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of multi-year grants to monitor progress, ensure accountability and impact.
• Review project grant budgets and milestones.
• Collaborate with grantees to collect and analyse data on project outcomes and impact.
• Prepare regular reports on the Foundation's grantmaking activities
• Communicate effectively with Foundation’s senior management team, Board of Directors and stakeholders.
3. Relationship Management
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with NGOs, community-based organisations, networks and other stakeholders in Thailand.
• Collaborate with existing and potential grantees to understand their work and impact.
You should have:
• at least 5 years of relevant experience ideally, we are also open to candidates with experience from other sectors
• a personal network of NGOs in Thailand, particularly those with a focus on environmental protection, climate and development
• ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• strong communication skills and the capacity to connect with a diverse mix of stakeholders and partners from different cultural backgrounds
• experience in rural community development, regenerative agriculture or sustainability is a plus
• willingness to travel widely including to remote rural communities in Thailand
Salary: Offer will be made according to the experience of the candidate.
