Consultant to translate an English database management reference manual into Thai Language

USAID Thailand Counter Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) Activity

Location:                        Thailand

Duration:                         Up to 20 days (160 hours)

Timeframe:                      November – December 2023

Background:

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Thailand Counter Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) Activity implemented by Winrock International aims to reduce TIP in Thailand and to better protect the rights of trafficked persons. The USAID Thailand CTIP activity is a ten-year activity, entering its seventh year of implementation. The activity has focused on supporting migrants from Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos by combating forced labor and human trafficking in the construction, agriculture, domestic work, and fishing sectors. However, due to the recent rise of people trafficked into Southeast Asia to work in online scam centers in Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, many of whom transit through Thailand, the activity is exploring how to address this emerging issue.  

Winrock International is currently seeking Winrock International is hiring a consultant to translate an English database management reference manual into Thai Language for USAID Thailand Counter Trafficking Persons (USAID Thailand CTIP) project.

The objective of the assignment:

• To translate accurately and professionally, on time, a reference manual relating to Real-time database management (WINTIP) from English to Thai language.   
• The translation should be done firsthand and not using Google Translator.  
• When instructed, provide translation/language services such as reviewing documents, responding to inquiries, and proofreading, if needed.

Proposal Submission

The consultant is required to submit the following documents for bid comparison:

• Quotation: The applicant should describe in the financial proposal stating per page amount (in Thai Baht)
• CV or organizational profile: Latest updated Company/individual profile highlighting your relevant work.

Timeline for the assignment:

• The document is approximately 50-60 pages lengthy and the timeline to complete the work is December 20, 2023. 

Notes:

Winrock International will provide the reference manual to the selected consultant and the selected consultant will ensure quality translation and will not use Google Translate.
