The Borderland Health Foundation (BHF) is a non-for-profit, non-confessional and non-political organization, registered in Thailand. The Foundation is linked to a field station of the Mahidol - Oxford University Research Unit (SMRU Clinics) which are located in Mas Sot, Mae Ramat, Phob Phra, Tha Song Yang and Umphang districts in Tak province, Thailand. BHF works with marginalized populations along Thailand-Myanmar border by focusing on health care services and public health issues with its focus on malaria, tuberculosis, and maternal and child health.
Job Summary: A web developer oversees an organization's website's day-to-day maintenance and administration. He/She performs a range of IT, and website development tasks to ensure organizations have functional websites that represent them well and users can navigate easily. He/She often responds to security issues and troubleshoots and resolves a variety of website performance issues. A web developer ensures the website has accurate and current domain and hosting information to prevent potential downtimes.
A web developer may manage posts, guest articles, images, reviews videos, and web pages.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring websites look good and function properly. A web developer collaborates with a content creator and SMRU/BHF media team
Keep the website’s domain and hosting registration current
Develop website content to support organizational goals and strategies
Responsible for planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading the organization’s website
Assist the content creator in writing a script, recording audio, editing audio, and creating a finished audio file and he/she will collaborate closely with the video editor/graphic designer and the SMRU/BHF media team
Create strategies to grow subscribers and regularly improve the website's user experience
Ensure the website complies with the appropriate laws and regulations
Reply to, troubleshoot, and resolve website issues
Implement security measures to protect websites
Maintain an understanding of current web technologies or programming practices through continuing education, reading, or participation in workshops or groups.
Responsible for SMRU/BHF media accessories and inventory
Perform other media activities as assigned by SMRU/BHF Media Group Supervisor
Requirements, skills, and qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a field like computer science, IT systems engineering, web development, or a similar field
2+ years of experience working as a website developer or relevant field
Requires excellent knowledge of various aspects of technology and computers.
Highly proficient in HTML, CMS, CSS design, cross-browser
Communication skills including written and verbal and refer to how successful people share, receive, and process information with each other.
Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and problem-solving skills, investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a variety of website issues.
Ability to work independently, as well as a valuable member of a team, and flexible to travel with the SMRU/BHF media team in the fields.
Good command of content creation and writing skills
Fantastic time management skills with the ability to multi-task
Fluency in written and verbal English and Thai
Karen and Burmese skills would be an asset
