Job Title: Junior Grants Officer (Pre-award)
Location: Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University (close to Victory Monument)
This post will be part of a busy, dynamic team that is responsible for securing multi-million dollar grants for global health research undertaken by world-class medical doctors and scientists from Mahidol University and the University of Oxford.
This post will be located within the Grants Team, reporting to the Pre-award Grants Officer. The main function of this team is to ensure that funding applications from scientists across the MORU Network meet all requirements from Oxford/Mahidol Universities and the respective donor, and are of the highest possible standard to maximize the chances of the project being awarded funding. The team’s remit also encompasses ongoing grant management once contracts are awarded.
Responsibilities of the post
Overall purpose:
To provide management information and support preparation, development and administrative processing of funding applications that MORU submits to the world’s leading global health donors.
Key Tasks:
- Developing funding applications. You will be involved with the development of funding applications, supporting funding bids and will take on responsibility for a portfolio of funding applications with a view to gradual career development.
- Identifying Funding Opportunities: You will research and disseminate details of funding calls through a monthly report disseminated across the MORU Network.
- Notification of intent to apply for external funding: You will respond to Principal investigators’ notifications of intent to apply for external funding and provide the relevant documents to them.
- Seeking approval from MORU’s Science and Strategy Committee (SSC): You will submit the MORU Grant Application Checklist and Project Form to the SSC to seek their approval.
- Organise the scheduling of team meetings and Funding Planning Meetings with MORU departments to support researchers in developing their own portfolio of projects/grants.
- Undertake other reasonable tasks as assigned.

The salary will be based on MORU scales and will depend on experience and qualifications.
