A US environmental consulting firm invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of:

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) SPECIALIST

for a five-year regional program of the United States Agency for International Development, based at the consulting firm’s office in Bangkok.

The IT Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and managing the information technology operations of the program office ensuring network and internet services in Windows systems; maintaining a 24-hours a day, 7 days a week availability of file, print and web servers; maintaining the functionality and workability of all computer-related equipment, including software and other applications as well as LCD projectors; and maintaining an inventory of all equipment and software and up-to-date manuals of the program LAN and computer systems, software and other equipment. The IT Specialist will coordinate and provide technical support to all the units of the program in meeting its computing, networking and internet needs; establishing and maintaining contacts with computer and network consultants, suppliers, vendors, and service providers; providing assistance on the purchase of computer-related equipment, software, applications, and other accessories; and providing training, technical advice and technology updates to all staff, and to any workshops as needed; and promoting a computer virus-free working environment. S/he will assist in the development and maintenance of a project web page. The IT Specialist will also provide application and systems assistance to the various program administration efforts of the office as well as Monitoring and Evaluation efforts of the program.

The qualified candidate should meet the following requirements:

University Degree in Computer Science or related field

Excellent spoken and written English

Minimum of five years in equivalent position

Experience working with International Organizations or NGOs

Ability to work under pressure in a multi-cultural work environment and with minimum supervision

Citizen of Thailand
