Malteser International is a German non-governmental organization providing humanitarian assistance and development aid for people in need in over 20 countries. Malteser International is currently working with temporary refugee shelters and surrounding villages in Sob-Moei district, Mae Hong Son province in Thailand. Our office located in Mae Sariang is looking for an efficient, motivated and experienced person for the position as Health Trainer

Duty Station:             Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Work locations:         Mae Sariang and Sob-Moei Districts within the field

Duration:                   Until July 2023

Salary range:             Negotiable

Main Responsibilities and Duties

1. Plan and conduct learning need assessment with local partners working with Malteser International
2. Develop training curriculum to improve local partner’s capacities as per the key findings of learning need assessment.
3. Review and revise First Aid Training curriculum.
4. Plan and conduct relevant health trainings including first aid for staff working with local partners.
5. Assist logistic team on a technical level in the process to procure appropriate medical equipment, medicines, and medical consumable.
6. Assist Pharmacy Supervisor on storing of medical equipment, medicines, and medical consumable including documentation.
7. Prepare and submit training report indicating budget spent, training achievement and needs
8. Prepare monthly report and activity plan to ensure qualitative aspect of the job, including new and refresher training and submit work plan before the end of the month
9. Attend health related meeting with other stakeholder/actors working along Thai – Myanmar border.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

1. Bachler’s degree in Medical Doctor, Nursing, Public Health, or related fields.
2. 3-5 years of experience working in health sector either in government or NGOs
3. 2-3 years working experience as trainer with the capacity to develop training curriculums including relevant IECs
4. Experience of working in humanitarian setting (preferably with previous experience in Thai - Myanmar border)
5. Experience of conducting learning need assessments or partner assessment.
6. Strong teaching, training, and supervisory skills
7. Fluency in speaking, writing, and reading Thai and Sgkaw Karen or Burmese
8. Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
9. Good computer skills and MS package (in particular MS Words, Excel, and Power Point)
10. Willingness to live and work under very basic conditions.
