Position Title: Regional Symposium Documentation Consultant

Position Summary:
The Regional Symposium Documentation Consultant will work collaboratively with the Mekong Partnership for the Environment and partners to produce a professional summary report for the Regional Symposium on ‘Shared Solutions: Safeguarding Sustainable Development in the Mekong Region’ to be held in Bangkok, Thailand during August 25-27, 2015.
Primary Duties include:
Responsible to lead in preparing and finalizing the symposium summary report for the Regional Symposium on ‘Shared Solutions: Safeguarding Sustainable Development in the Mekong Region’
Prior to the workshop, the consultant will communicate with Pact to fully prepare for the assignment by either e-mail communication or, if required, face-to-face meetings at Pact’s office.
During the workshop, the consultant shall take notes and document the four (4) plenary sessions in the workshop, as well as up to four (4) additional concurrent sessions, and collect and compile all breakout session notes from other session moderators/rapporteurs, in order to draft the summary report.
S/he is responsible to compile notes taken by him or herself as well as from breakout session moderators/rapporteurs to be assigned for the workshop by organizers and coordinated by the consultant on workshop site.
Prepare a draft report for Pact comment, and revise based on comments.
Fulfill reporting requirements after the workshop, within 10 working days after the event by providing a final Summary Report in Pact Format.
DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT
The time required for the consultancy is six (6) days, estimated within the period from August 24- September 16, 2015.
EDUCATION AND ABILITITIES
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as, environmental studies, communications, media, public relations, or humanities
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in editing-type work (conducting research, editing, proof-reading, and formatting of reports )
Demonstrated knowledge of social and environment, and development issues in the Mekong region preferred
Organized with the ability to handle multiple deadlines and a variety of tasks
Excellent writing and editing skills
High level of proficiency in verbal and written English required
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office
SCHEDULE OF PAYMENTS
Payment will be made upon submission and satisfactory deliverables as indicated below:
Deliverables:
A full workshop summary draft report in which all notes are appropriately incorporated (within 10 days)
A finalized Workshop Summary report in which all the comments received from Pact are reflected
