Background

World Vision Foundation of Thailand (WVFT) is a non-profit, Christian organization, dedicated to transformational development of children, families and communities.  It was founded in 1974, and is currently supporting children, families and community development in 46 provinces in Thailand.

Purpose of position

The purpose of this position is to provide overall leadership and management to the World Vision Foundation of Thailand’s (WVFT) upcoming project on forced labor investigations and prosecution in Thailand.  The Project Manager will be based in WVFT’s Bangkok Office, under the supervision of the Programme and Support Services Group Director. The Project Manager will play a key role in ensuring the project is delivered through day-to-day project management, monitoring, and internal reporting to World Vision and the donor.

Main responsibilities

The major responsibilities pertaining to this position include:

  1. Project implementation
    • Ensure proper oversight of project activities against project workplan.
    • Provide supervision and technical guidance to project field teams.
    • Coordinate the overall project activities to ensure the project is on track and aligns with the implementation plan.
  2. Project management
  • Provide support to the Project MEAL Advisor to ensure data collection and data entry related to M+E is on track according to M+E plan.
  • Internal monthly reporting against project logframe in alignment with MEAL plan.
  • Quarterly and annual reporting against project logframe in alignment with MEAL plan.
  • Apply and update project implementation plan.
  • Monitor and address risks and issues as they arise.
  • Manage and monitor project budget and expenditures against planned activities and that it aligns with WVFT and the donor compliance.
  • Provide people leadership and management, leading a high-performance culture within the project team based on World Vision’s mindsets and behaviors.
  1. Partnership management
  • Coordinate with the Project Partnerships and Technical Advisor in managing, monitoring collaboration with project partners to ensure partnership engagement is aligned with the project objectives and workplan.
  •  Serve as a focal point to coordinate project activities with identified project partners, including central and local government agencies and CSOs.
  • Provide technical support to partners and ensure their inclusion within the project scope of interventions.
  • Coordinate monitoring and evaluation activities with partners and the Project MEAL Advisor.
  1. Donor engagement
  • Serve as focal point for all donor engagement between World Vision and the donor, including timely and regular updates, high quality reporting, and meetings as required.
  1. Advocacy
  • Take lead in project advocacy activities at central level with selected government agencies.
  • Liaise with project partners and stakeholders at central level as per project planned advocacy activities.
  • Take the lead in the development of evidence-based advocacy products as planned by the project.
  • In collaboration with the Project MEAL Advisor, develop an internal database of learnings and evidences generated under the project.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Master’s degree or higher in development studies or related fields.
  2. A minimum of three years’ experience in grant project management, with a preference for projects related to migration, protection, human trafficking and prosecution.
  3. At least three years working experience in management and team leading experience.
  4. Strong networking, coordination and facilitation skills and techniques.
  5. Excellent interpersonal, communication and diplomatic skills with the ability to build partnerships, both within the organization, and with external partners and stakeholders.
  6. Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure and ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment under competing deadlines.
  7. Computer proficient, with experience using Microsoft Office tools and online communication platform, mainly Zoom and Microsoft team.
  8. Oral and written communication skill in both Thai and English are required for this position.
