Digital Communication Officer

RECOFTC is implementing an integrated digital marketing, communication, knowledge management, and learning strategy to support the achievement of its mission. We are seeking a Digital Communication Officer to support RECOFTC by implementing multi-channel digital marketing and communication strategies and initiatives. The contract is for 24 months subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Specific tasks and duties
Reporting to the Director of Knowledge Management and Strategic Communication, the Digital Communication Officer supports the design of digital communication and engagement strategies and manages implementation, monitoring and reporting. They manage RECOFTC’s website and social media channels: copywriting, scheduling, posting content, assessing performance, and contributing ideas for improving RECOFTC’s content stream and digital engagement.

Specific tasks and duties include:

  • Contributing to the design of RECOFTC’s marketing, communication, knowledge management and learning strategies and campaigns
  • Implementing digital strategies and initiatives
  • Performing research on trends and audience preferences
  • Monitoring Search Engine Optimization and web metrics
  • Measuring progress against key performance indicators
  • Managing, updating, and overseeing the maintenance and development of RECOFTC’s website
  • Managing RECOFTC’s profile and engagement with diverse audiences across social media, direct email, newsletters and other channels,
  • Communicating with and responding to followers and subscribers
  • Developing and managing a social media calendar
  • Writing, editing, producing and repurposing content
  • Managing and archiving written and visual content archives
  • Ensuring social inclusion and gender equity are integrated communication and engagement activities
  • Ensuring RECOFTC’s Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct, and Gender Policy are followed
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of the Knowledge Management and Strategic Communication Unit

Qualifications and experience
Essential

  • University degree or diploma in marketing, communication or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years working experiences in marketing and communication
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience designing and executing multi-channel digital strategies, including paid campaigns, in a professional environment
  • Expert knowledge and experience working with content management systems and social media
  • Experience using Facebook Business Manager, Insights, Ads Managers, Creative Studio, and Google Analytics  Experience using Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Canva, and other design programs and applications
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills
  • Experience using online media management systems such as Flickr and Vimeo
  • Ability to edit photos and video
  • Ability to develop infographics
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people at all levels in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to problem solve and track multiple projects
  • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines, with flexibility and a positive attitude
  • Experience working in virtual communication teams

Desirable

  • Experience with Meltwater
  • Experience working with Drupal 8
  • Formal training in UX and UI
  • Formal training in graphic design
  • Knowledge of HTML and experience with Search Engine Optimization
  • Ability to use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
