Responsibilities of the advertised position:

BDF is seeking a new staff member to help improve our foundation operations in finance and accounting. The position will work under direct supervision of the Finance department. The main responsibilities of this role will include the following: 

Role and responsibilities include - but are not restricted to:

1. Accounting
   1. Support in the general accounting process, particularly in recording expense into the accounting software (XERO)
   2. Ensure the receipt and financial practices are aligned to Thai Law and transparent ethical standards
   3. Support in preparing tax and social security documents and procedures
   4. Support in maintaining the accounts for all payments made in the Chiang Mai office and liaising with staff and suppliers as necessary
   5. Support related entity to organize operation process which related to finance and accounting matters.
2. Support of Reporting and Budgeting
   1. Support of the Finance Department to prepare financial budgets for proposals to donors
   2. Support of the Finance Department to prepare financial reports for donors and internal use
3. Support Administration & Human Resource Department:
   1. Support the Director of HR and Public Relations and work with Admin team in the development of general administrative processes
   2. Facilitation of communication on financial procedure among the team and with external partners / institutions
4. Support implementation of local programs developed by Baan Dek Foundation:
   1. Whenever relevant, run educational activities with children designed to support mostly migrant communities working on construction sites

Qualifications:

Nationality:  Thai (or any legal resident of Thailand.  We are unable to provide a visa and work permit for this position).

Language: Native Thai, fluent spoken and written English is an important requirement

Education / Experience: Experience related to accountancy or finance

• Degree (Bachelor degree or equivalent) in a relevant academic field is a strong requirement
• Experience of maintaining finance systems and procedures
• Experience in external audit or accounting (min 6 months)
• Knowledge of current Thai and international accounting, procedures, standards and financial issues considered as an asset
• Knowledge of tax and related law such as withholding tax rate, tax submission, tax calculation and social security as an asset
• Skill in preparing and maintaining accurate accounting records, financial statements and budgets considered as an asset

Working hours:  Full time - Monday to Friday with occasional weekend + evenings

Salary & Compensation: Starting at 16,000 THB (to be defined based on experience and qualifications).
