Responsibilities of the advertised position:
|
|
Baan Dek Foundation is currently looking for a professional and dedicated local Social worker / Social Advisor who will commit to contribute to the overall goals of Baan Dek Foundation and provide specialized support for the Communities Management Program, and emergency case management and
the employee will work under direct supervision of the Program manager and Directors.
|
|
Role and responsibilities include - but are not restricted to:
|
|
SOCIAL WORK DIRECTLY WITH BENEFICIARIES
- Conduct in individual case management (involving a team of 5 social workers)
- Identification of the beneficiaries (through regular outreach) and assessment of their needs;
- Providing appropriate social counselling and ensuring regular and effective follow-up by implementation of support plan through social work activities;
- Promotion of child protection: education, safety, healthcare, hygiene...;
- Design and implementation of activities and tools (such as life skills) dedicated to improving the beneficiaries' living situation and facilitating their future autonomy.
- Identify and develop partnerships with relevant local partners (schools, medical centers, social services, etc.)
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION AND COORDINATION
- Preparation and coordination of field activities (life skills);
- Support the in the design, implementation, evaluation and achievement of the objectives of Baan Dek Foundation’s projects by targeting as much as possible the most vulnerable children and families in Thailand.
- Conduct research and develop data on life skills and migration to support Baan Dek activities. Participate also to the elaboration of qualitative monitoring on activities run with vulnerable children and families.
- Developing and implementing the overall monitoring system for activities well as throughout Thailand.
- Contribute to develop network and relations with local partners that are relevant to the project in consideration.
- Facilitate or support community through Empowerment Program.

MONITORING and REPORTING
- Support in organizing and monitoring the reporting and communication of information on the beneficiaries within the team,
- Monitoring and reporting on social work activities;
- Reporting on every follow-up action held with the beneficiaries (home visits, activities, meetings, phone calls, …) and organizing the reports in the beneficiaries' files;
- Support in terms of administrative/legal matters related to the project; and
Assistance with any task as per the needs of the organisation and the management team.

Qualifications:
|
|
Nationality: Thai
Language: Native Thai, Thai-Khmer speaking will be considered, fluent spoken and written English (knowledge of Thai-Yai, or Burmese considered an asset).
Education: Degree or experience in a relevant field (/ social work / social development/ political science / international development/ etc.)
Experience:
- Experience as a social worker or experience related to development or social work
- Ability to understand family situations and conduct assessments
- Experience as a project coordinator or research coordinator considered an asset
- Experience in interviewing, counselling, and case management considered an asset
- Experience with non-profit organizations or in the humanitarian sector will also be strongly considered
Other skills/interests:

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multicultural team
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to provide and receive positive criticism in a sensitive manner

Working hours: Full time - Monday to Friday (flexible schedule) and occasionally on weekend & evenings
Salary: Starting at 20,000 THB (to be defined based on experience and qualifications) Complementary advantages provided (transportation and phone allowance, etc.)
