TOR: Accounting Officer, Asian Resource Foundation
Since 1996, ARF has been responding to the needs of vulnerable communities particularly in the areas of children’s education, child rights, women’s empowerment and youth leadership development. ARF also provides a number of workshops and trainings on peacebuilding, conflict transformation, negotiation and reconciliation that are operated by one arm of the organization, the Institute of Peace and Development Studies (IIPDS). ARF mobilizes human and financial resources to respond to the emergency needs of people affected by both natural and man-made disasters which include emergency relief and reconstruction programs.
Position: Accounting Officer
Assignment duration: 1 year; extendable
Duty Station: Bangkok, Thailand
Job Purpose:
The Accounting Officer at ARF is expected to roll-out financial procedures devised at group level, manage accounts, general ledger, and cash flow of ARF’s projects in Thailand and other countries ARF has programs in. The Accounting Officer has also to formulate annual budget, ensure timely and complete payments to program implementors and employees and manage exchange rate risks, submit tax returns with the Thai revenue department and improve company financial tools. In addition, he/she is also in charge of the costs controlling of ARF’s Asia projects, including financial reports and budget review to the management in cooperation with the project coordinators.
Typical Responsibilities:
Financial tasks and Accounting
Review, verify and keep accurate record of accounting / financial transactions
Prepare monthly office’s budget plans and financial status
Track, monitor and ensure timely and appropriate office and project’s expenditures and all financial transactions in line with financial plan
Prepare journal / ledger for accounting reconciliation and financial reports
Prepare financial statement for external auditor for audited report
Corporate tax calculation / submit ภงด 55, Manage tax clearance and social security
Prepare document for money receipt / withdraw / TF
Assist in applying for work permit and visa for international staff
Report to District and Labor Dept
Record funding agreements / reports
Assist in program implementation programs as required
Entry Qualifications, skills and experience:
Bachelor’s in accounting/ Business Administration
Minimum 2 years of experience in managing accounts, general ledger, cash flow and human resources management
Good communication skills in English is required
Previous experience in NGOs is an advantage
