POSITION TITLE: (Paid) Intern USAID Asia CTIP

TEAM: Human Rights, Education, and Empowerment (HREE)

PROJECT: USAID Asia Counter-Trafficking in Persons Project

REPORTS TO: Program Officer

LOCATION: Thailand/Remote

STATUS: Full-time/Part-time

Position Summary:

Winrock is seeking applicants for the position of remote / virtual intern for Winrock’s USAID Asia Counter Trafficking in Persons Project (USAID Asia CTIP). USAID Asia CTIP addresses trafficking risks and responses to achieve the overall goal of reducing trafficking in persons throughout Asia. USAID Asia CTIP advances regional coordination and strategically supports other USAID CTIP projects throughout the region by: (1) strengthening stakeholder understanding of human trafficking, CTIP interventions, and their collective interaction; (2) reinforcing the CTIP evidence base, including improving the quality and usage of empirical data associated with human trafficking; (3) facilitating practical cross-border cooperation between source, transit, and destination countries; and (4) developing opportunities for increased leadership by the private sector and other stakeholders. 


 

The CTIP intern will be responsible for lending support to document project activities and results and to develop and promote learning materials. Tasks include coordinating with CTIP projects in Asia and CSOs working on CTIP to document and highlight successes and good models, create communication materials to inform on project activities and progresses, support online and in person learning events, preparation and proofreading of documents drafting and reviewing communications materials. The intern will also support the project in various technical, administrative, operational, and communications tasks.


 

The position is full-time (part-time considered) for a period of three months (April – June 2021). This position requires an energetic, innovative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented person with excellent communication and writing and editing skills.


 

Paid Intern, Asia Counter Trafficking in Persons

Effective with the release of this position announcement, Winrock International is recruiting applicants for the position of Intern for the USAID-funded Asia Counter Trafficking in Persons (Asia CTIP) program. The program works to reduce trafficking in persons in Asia through improved information, cross-border collaboration and private sector leadership.


 


 

ESSENTIAL REPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and review communications materials (newsletter, infographic, brochure) to be used in the social media

  • Contribute to support in person and online learning events (zoom, Microsoft Teams)

  • Contribute to edit and formatting tools, reports and communication materials highlighting the progress and impact of activities

  • Draft posts and graphics for social media

  • If required, support the development of a multi-year communications strategy

  • Conduct systematic research reviews

  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (communications, marketing, international development, human rights, human trafficking, economics, and/or livelihoods development) required

  • Currently enrolled in a master’s level program

  • Exceptional English written and oral communications skills required

  • Graphic design and/or video editing skills strongly preferred

  • Ability to solve problems creatively

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills and ability to work independently

  • Ability to demonstrate the highest level of ethical standards at all times

  • Proficiency in software supported by Winrock (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge of simple online design software preferred (Canva, Piktochart, Infographics, Illustrator)
