Position title: Consultant to create a short video animation for International Migrants Day

Location: Bangkok, Thailand

Reports to: Chief of Party

POSITION SUMMARY:

As the world observes International Migrants Day this year on 18 December 2020, USAID Thailand CTIP project marks this opportunity to draw attention to the contributions of migrants and to the need to promote and protect their rights. This year theme will highlight the importance of women migrants’ rights at the world of work to reiterate the need to respect the rights and their dignity without violence and discriminations.

USAID Thailand Counter Trafficking in Persons Project is seeking a contract service to create animations and edit, from a raw footage to a final high-quality video (no more than 5 minutes long). The video will capture information about the rights of migrants giving emphasis on women workers. It will address barriers and challenges workers faced at work ranging from pay gap, social benefits, value of work, harassment, and multiple layers of discriminations. The animations will be used to raise awareness about rights at work and support zero tolerance for violence and discrimination against women migrant workers.

The contractor will be provided with key messages and will be expected to contribute to the creative design process. The contractor will also take full responsibility for the technical part of the video design and editing process and postproduction, including developing animation, handling the copyright and/or any other intellectual rights regarding illustration and other graphic pictures to be included in the design, if needed.

OBJECTIVES

The goal of this consultancy work is to produce a visually effective and high-quality video animation to as part of the International Migrants Day. The video will contain key messages to address rights of women migrant workers at the world of work; a mix of video footage, stills, and infographics and animation infographics and/or illustrations with no longer 5 minutes duration.

CONSULTANCY PERIOD The production of the video and related animations will take place in November- December 2020.

DELIVERABLES:

Qualifications

• Outstanding animations design and editing skills;

• Experience as a video/animation creator with thorough technical knowledge (ability to operate, configure, set up and fix video, audio, lighting, or other production equipment. Must be familiar with the equipment and able to troubleshoot problems);

• Experience creating animations and infographics;

• Experience in digital postproduction software to be able to edit raw footage, insert subtitles and closed captioning in compliance with Section 508, graphics, other on-screen text, and special effects into a video.

• Proficient in English and Thai;

• Experienced in producing public outreach activity videos/animations for non-profit organizations, especially with the USAID as main funding entity;

• Proven ability to work in multicultural environment with a professional work ethic, integrity and initiative;

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;

• Knowledge of trafficking in persons and/or private sector engagement is a plus.
