Intern, Communications and Private Sector Engagement
IUCN, International Union for Conservation of Nature, is seeking an intern to join our Asia Regional Office.
BACKGROUND
This is a local recruitment. Only Thai nationals, individuals with residence status or the appropriate employment visa for Thailand are eligible to apply. The remuneration and benefits package for this position is established with reference to the local labour market and in line with the IUCN conditions of service for Thailand.
This internship aims to offer students undergoing graduate or post-graduate studies a meaningful work experience by supplementing their learning through a practical and on-the-job training approach. In doing so, the intern’s knowledge is supplemented through a practical learning experience while IUCN derives some level of advantage from the young professional’s services as well as the possibility of gaining new perspectives from the intern.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
The Intern, Communications and Private Sector Engagement, will be provided the learning and training opportunity through the activities below.
• Provide support in coordinating communications activities.
• Provide support in the implementation of the IUCN Asia Communications Strategy
• Provide support in coordinating business engagements efforts across the region
• Provide support in drafting communications products for the IUCN Asia Communication Unit and Business and Biodiversity Programme
• Update the database of private sector engagements in Asia as needed
• Provide support in conducting due diligence on regional private sector engagements as needed
REQUIREMENTS
• Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor or advance degree or equivalent qualification in marketing, communications or any business-related studies
• Be in a “gap year” between studies with a clear goal of returning to complete or initiate studies at the end of the “gap year/period”.
• Strong credibility, aptitude and ability for problem solving
• Ability to deliver under pressure/aptitude for number crunching
• Ability to communicate in English
• Comfortable to work in multi-cultural environment
• Willingness to learn is essential
