RECOFTC is inviting candidates to apply for the position of National Program Officer, Study Tour and Blended Learning as part of the Program Coordination and Technical Services team. The successful applicant will be based in Bangkok, Thailand. The contract duration is for 24 months with a possibility of extension subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance. The position is for Thai nationals only.
Specific tasks and duties
The National Program Officer, Study Tour and Blended Learning will be a member of the Program Coordination and Technical Services (PCTS) Unit under the supervision of the Senior Program Officer for Training and Learning (T&L) and will work closely with relevant RECOFTC team members to support and assist the preparation, design and delivery of study tours and blended learning activities and programs, including online training.
The National Program Officer, Study Tour and Blended Learning will be mainly responsible for developing exciting, informative and inclusive study tour programs and blended learning experiences, which may include classroom training, online training and field visits. The officer will also be responsible for assisting T&L team members as needed to brainstorm, research, document, and quality check other T&L products and programs, including online training courses, study manuals, in-person seminars, and stories and communication products related to T&L. The National Program Officer, Study Tour and Blended Learning will be a cheerleader and champion for RECOFTC, the T&L team, and forest-dependent people throughout Thailand, so as to help strengthen and expand good forestry and forest tenure practices that will preserve the region’s precious forests and empower the people within them.
This position will travel throughout Thailand, pending travel restrictions, and will have the opportunity to interact closely with local communities, building trusting relationships with them that ultimately will serve to bring more awareness, financial support and technical support to local forest-dependent people. Ultimately, through the work of RECOFTC in general, and the T&L team in particular, we hopes to alleviate rural poverty, protect forests, develop sustainable communities, and adapt to climate change in Thailand, and throughout the Southeast Asia region. The National Program Officer, Study Tour and Blended Learning will be a key part of making that happen!
