CONSULTANCY POSITION: SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST – Partners against Wildlife Crime
An interesting home-based consultancy opportunity for a social media specialist under the “Partners against Wildlife Crime” Project.
Brief description
The Social Media Specialist will specifically provide communication support through social media channels to the European Union (EU)-funded ‘Partners against Wildlife Crime” project. The project aims to disrupt wildlife trafficking in the Mekong region and Malaysia. It is led by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS)/Greater Mekong in partnership with 12 organizations from civil society across the region.
Mission: to grow a community of followers online and to inspire them to stand for nature and wildlife / against wildlife crime, under the EU-funded project banner.
Key responsibilities: in liaison with the project’s team,
• Develop a social media strategy;
• Create and manage a social media editorial planning (weekly, monthly, quarterly);
• Create attractive content and publish regularly on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and/or other outlets, as deemed strategically appropriate;
• Coordinate conversation management (comments, private messages and reactions);
• Monitor activity and results and provide feedback about social media performance, with recommendations for improvement;
Profile: You are a social media animal who can create catchy communications, with a vision. In particular, you are…
• Graduated in media and communication (social and mass media, development communication, etc.) or related field (journalism, digital marketing, etc.) and/or
• With proven and verifiable professional experience in social media development and management; experience in strategic communications is desirable;
• Digitally savvy, with an up-to-date knowledge of today’s social media outlets;
• An excellent command of English is a must, whereas command of Thai is an asset.
The consultant will provide services remotely; (s)he may come to the office for meeting (only for those living in Bangkok). Applicants must have right to work in Thailand.
