Job description:
As a key member of the team, the Monitoring, Reporting, Evaluation and Learning (MREL) Officer will support the Country Lead and Team Leader(s) in the successful delivery of the programme interventions/projects.
Under the direction of the Country Lead, the MREL Officer will liaise closely with the client, UN Habitat, Programme MREL Officer and government stakeholders to support data collection and reporting for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), progress reporting and learning. The Officer will also support the documentation of major events, draft success stories, and provide translation services when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of monitoring and evaluation plans for each project and ensure MREL related tasks and deliverables are completed on target.
- Support all M&E related activities, including data collection, tabulation and analysis, and reporting.
- In collaboration with other stakeholders, regularly review and update logical frameworks and Theory of Change and lead monitoring and reporting on performance indicators for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Together with project teams, identify, analyse and document lessons learned, best practices, success stories and other project accomplishments.
- Prepare written reports, case studies, leaflets and posters, videos, social media entries and other outputs to capture and disseminate the project’s key events and accomplishments.
- Conduct research and prepare reports on relevant topics to support the project.
- Provide translation of key reports (Local language-English, English-local language) and interpretation in business meetings whenever necessary.
Candidate specification:
- Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as communications, economics, business, management); a relevant Master’s degree (social sciences, mathematics, research) a strong advantage.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in communications, project controls (monitoring, evaluation and learning), preferably in the international development and governance sphere.
- Excellent skills in statistical analysis and problem-solving.
- Good IT skills and advanced user of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in MSP preferred; or willingness and ability to learn and apply.
- Excellent reporting skills and ability to present data and other technical information for consumption by a wide audience.
- Advanced command of English, both written and spoken (minimum TOEIC score of 850 / IELTS 6.5)
- Team player with strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
- Well-organized with effective time management and project planning skills.
- Pro-active and able to work independently with limited supervision.
