Plan International Thailand Job Advertisement: Intern – Regional Campaign/Communications Unit

Position:  Intern – Regional Campaign/Communications Unit

Assignment duration: Fixed Term 3-6 month’s contract.

Duty station: Bangkok, Thailand

 

JOB BACKGROUND:

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years and are now active in more than 75 countries, 19 of which are in Asia-Pacific. 

Strategic communications play a key role in Plan International achieving its goals and objectives at every level; from programs to advocacy to media outreach to brand awareness. Under the supervision of the Regional Head of Media and Strategic Communications, the intern will work towards achieving Plan International Asia-Pacific Region’s objectives through strategic communications, campaigning, media engagement, public mobilization and digital media. He/she will engage with internal and external stakeholders by highlighting girls' rights issues, raising the voices of young people while positioning Plan International as a go-to organization for girls' rights.

Responsibilities - Key End Results of Position:

  • Strengthened internal and external communications, with a focus on impactful milestones and occasions, research, events and other meaningful resources
  • Plan International maintains strong presence in Asia through participation in key events, speaking engagements and active collaboration with key media outlets.
  • Increased meaningful engagements and visibility on Plan International Asia-Pacific web content and social media platforms
  • Increased quality production of content in line with advocacy opportunities.
  • Gender equality and Child protection principles are reflected in all materials produced.
  • Plan International is recognized as a go-to orgnization for girl's rights in the region.

  • Complies with corporate policies and standards: Child Protection Policy, IT Policy, Anti-Fraud and Corruption Policy, Confidentiality Policy, Code of Conduct, Whistle Blowing, HR Policies and Procedures

Knowledge, Skills, Behaviors, and Experience Required

  • Absolute fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, international relations, journalism or related fields.
  • Tech-savvy and capable of managing basic website editing and maintenance tasks.
  • Exceptional written, interpersonal communication skills, digital, web writing skills.
  • Experience in event management, public relations, and dealing with the media
  • Ability to deliver to tight deadlines
  • Comfortable working in multiple different cultural contexts.
  • Able to make judgments and execute work autonomously
  • Experience dealing with the media.
