Regional Communications and Online Campaigns Project Manager

The Asia Foundation’s regional peace and transitions team seeks a skilled, confident and enthusiastic manager to play a vital role in The Resiliency Initiative, a new program to promote tolerance and increase resilience against violent extremism in several countries across the Asia-Pacific region. The program will support campaigns, primarily using social media, and will offer related technical assistance to the civil society organizations selected to run the campaigns.

The Regional Communications and Online Campaigns Project Manager will implement the program and ensure that effective campaigns are carried out. The role involves working as part of a team and interacting with other organizations across the region. An initial one-year contract will be offered with a view to further extension.

The Asia Foundation is an international development organization committed to the development of a peaceful, prosperous, just, and open Asia-Pacific region. The Asia Foundation’s regional peace and transitions team supports effective programming tackling conflict and fragility in Asia.

Skills and Background:

• Based in Bangkok, able to travel on regular shortterm visits to Asian countries likely to include the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Singapore, Indonesia
• At least 5 years’ experience of managing grants and technical assistance for local nongovernmental organizations, or of media and communications campaigns for development aims or social causes
• Ideally, experience with online campaigns using social media platforms and applications to promote social causes
• Respect for cultural differences and ability to engage sensitively  with people from diverse backgrounds
• Fluent spoken and written English. Thai national / entitled to work in Thailand
• Willingness to engage in related work for The Asia Foundation’s regional peace and transitions programs, focusing especially on communications
