TITLE: Project Assistant – EASE II
TEAM/PROGRAMME: Program Implementation
LOCATION: Bangkok Office
CONTRACT LENGTH: 10 month contract with possibility of extension
ROLE PURPOSE:
To support activities on migrant children and families in the project areas and to coordinate with relevant local authorities at national and local levels.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Project Assistant will be closely working with local partners under the direction of Field Coordinator, Senior Social Worker and Child Protection and Education Specialists to:
- Support the coordination with government and non-governmental partners concerning child protection and alternative education for the affected migrant children and their families in the project location; building and maintaining good relationships with partners and stakeholders, and supporting the Field Coordinator to problem-solve and provide advice to the relevant stakeholders as necessary
- Support the planning and delivery of the capacity building trainings and awareness raising of the partner staffs and the government staffs, on relevant trainings so that children and families receive appropriate care at the minimum standard. This includes organizing and support trainings to professional interpreters, support collaboration with BATWC to certify the interpreters who are working in the shelters/project location, and establish a volunteer roster for skilled interpreters who are able to assist in urgent cases in various locations
- Provide timely and high quality support in delivery and coordination for the project activities, such as activities in the established Child-friendly spaces (CFS), psychosocial support for children, and others. Also, work with community members/partner staffs and mobilize volunteers’ engagement in project activities and information dissemination about relevant issues. In addition, take a proactive role to support Field Coordinator to identify gaps, areas for improvement and opportunities for longer term engagement in the area.
- Collect relevant and accurate data related to the project implementation, including for the monitoring evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL), based on the standard formats and submit reports capturing achievements, case studies and lessons learned to the Project officer and/or input to system. Also, contribute to the preparation of internal and external reports
- Support the monitoring of activities to achieve expected results. This includes support in planning of activities, budgets and procurement. As well as in monitoring of activity within budget as per the monthly plan. Where challenges arise, ensure that these are flagged early, communicated to the Project Officer and addressed in a timely manner way.
- Participate in team reviews of results and program progress and/or project evaluation when and as requested

QUALIFICATIONS
- Thai Nationality
- Bachelor’s degree on social science/social work or related to child protection or education
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
- At least 2 years of experience ideally in development, education management, or other related fields. An in depth understanding of national and international issues in particular in relation to child protection and education is an advantage
- Proven ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and administrative skills
- Demonstrate good project co-ordination/management and facilitation skills
- Ability and willingness to work in remote areas and work in multi-cultural environment
- Good command of English language.
Desirable
- Ability and experience in delivering training
- Experience in financial administration
- Experiences in working in refugee camps. Ability to speak and write Burmese or Bengali language would be an advantage
