English report writer

Rapid Asia is an independent social research consultancy based in Bangkok. We carry out program evaluations across a number of thematic areas including migration, human rights, wildlife conservation, health, climate change, education etc. Our clients include donors, UN agencies and international aid and development organizations. We take a regional approach to our work and have developed tools and indicators that can be used across borders. Rapid Asia has carried out projects in over 30 countries across Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, Middle-East and South/Central America.

Due to our continued growth and expanding workload, we are looking for several experienced and reliable English Report Writers, to support our team. Reports produced are often published by our clients so needs to be of impeccable quality. The work will be on a contract basis and regular work can be expected and could also include editing work. As an English report writer you will be a key member of the project team and you will be notified well in advance of upcoming projects. Type of report and report length will vary depending on the project and it is expected that remuneration will be agreed based on workload. More than one candidate can be accepted as long as requirements are met.

Job Responsibilities:

• Report writing in English
• Desk research and compiling and contextualizing secondary data sources
• Data triangulation (with support from project team)
• Produce high quality research reports from primary and secondary data
• Ability to work independently and with some level flexibility
• Editing (secondary)

Requirements:

• Proven report writing experience of research reports involving analysis of data
• Keen interest in social development work
• Strong work ethics and attention to detail
• Ability to deliver to strict deadlines
• Native English speaker is an advantage
• Thematic expertise in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage: migration, human rights, gender, agriculture, poverty reduction and climate change.
• Experience with desk top publishing is considered an advantage but not essential.
• Based in Bangkok is considered an advantage but not essential.
