Pact Overview

At the heart of Pact is the promise of a better tomorrow. A nonprofit international development organization founded in 1971, Pact works on the ground in nearly 40 countries to improve the lives of those who are challenged by poverty and marginalization. We serve these communities because we envision a world where everyone owns their future. To do this, we build systemic solutions in partnership with local organizations, businesses, and governments that create sustainable and resilient communities where those we serve are heard, capable, and vibrant.

Pact is a recognized global leader in international development. Our staff have a range of expertise in areas including public health, capacity development, governance and civil society, natural resource management, poverty, fragile states, monitoring and evaluation, small-scale and artisanal mining, microfinance and more. This expertise is combined in Pact’s unique integrated approach, which focuses on systemic changes needed to improve people’s lives.

Department Overview

Both of Pact Thailand’s flagship programs, USAID Green Invest Asia and the Lower Mekong Initiative  Sustainable Infrastructure Project (SIP), have grown in pipeline activity and programming size to require an in-house staff graphic designer to support marketing communications for both projects.

USAID Green Invest Asia is a technical assistance facility working to catalyze private investment for sustainable agriculture and forest landscapes across Southeast Asia by sustainable businesses working in this sector with investment. By 2022, USAID Green Invest Asia (GIA) aims to mobilize $400 million of investment that will result in a reduction or sequestration of 25 million tons CO2e of greenhouse gas emissions. GIA supports agriculture and forestry companies with strategies, assessments and advice to improve their sustainable commodity production, sourcing and business practices. In doing so, they become ready for investment, including sustainable financing from banks, impact funds, climate funds and other institutions in our financial network. A number of those financial institutions are also receiving GIA technical support through sustainable finance trainings, pipeline development, research and transaction support.

The U.S. Department of State-funded SIP works toward enhancing regional cooperation on policies and practices that inform large-scale infrastructural development by leveraging partnerships among programs and institutions in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. SIP is also a knowledge broker between the U.S. government and other  key stakeholders working on Lower Mekong initiatives, including:- Australia, Japan, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, the European Union, Asian Development Bank and World Bank.
