  1. Nature of the consultancy:

 

Conceptualizing, developing and formatting graphic design of Information, Education and Communication materials (IECs) for the EU-funded project “Promoting stability, well-being and harmony for Myanmar Muslims and host communities in Thailand”.

           

Objective: To design the most effective IECs for the project

  1. IOM project to which the consultancy is contributing:

 

The EU-funded project “Promoting stability, well-being and harmony for Myanmar Muslims and host communities in Thailand”.

 

Under the direct supervision of the Project Officer of the EU-funded project “Promoting stability, well-being and harmony for Myanmar Muslims and host communities in Thailand”, the successful candidate will be responsible for graphic designing, editing and formatting of the assigned jobs for the above project. The project will target the continued vulnerabilities and needs of marginalized Myanmar Muslims (including Rohingyas) as well as disadvantaged Thais in host communities located in the provinces of Tak (Mae Sot), Ranong and Phang Nga. The project activities aim to create stability and harmony by improving living conditions and access to services; standardizing response and care; and creating coherence and predictability in policy, practice and programming that contribute to the overall wellbeing of this vulnerable group and its host community.

 

  1. Tasks to be performed under this contract:

 

The Consultant will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Officer as well as Project and Communications Assistant to conceptualize the most effective Information, Education and Communication materials (IECs) in the framework of the project in coordination with field teams based in Tak (Mae sot), Phang Nga and Ranong.
  • Develop, edit and format graphic design for IECs. The IECs include all written, printed and electronical materials for disseminating the information on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for referral and response protocols pertaining to protection, health, education, community empowerment and livelihoods, and community welfare.
  • IOM will review the entire description and design developed by the Consultant pursuant to this contract.
  • Following delivery to IOM of the graphic design in the format and manner required by IOM, electronic copy of such printable documents must be provided to IOM and all traces of such electronic copy of such printable documents must be completely destroyed by the Consultant who must provide IOM with a certificate of such destruction.

 

  1. Education and Experience:

 

The qualified candidate should possess:

 

  • University/Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design, or relevant fields
  • Strong design skills, and experience of using software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, After Effect, CorelDraw and other relevant programmes
  • Strong IT skills 
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written

 

  1. Terms of payment:

At the end of each month; 28 February 2019, 31 March 2019, and 30 April 2019.

 

Languages

Fluency in English and Thai is required
