Child’s Dream Foundation is a charitable, not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering marginalized children and youth in the Mekong Sub-Region, which includes Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia. We achieve this by working in partnership with communities to improve the educational and health situation of their children and youth. For our office in Chiang Mai, Thailand, we are looking for an
Assistant Field Coordinator (Laos)
Tasks
While travelling in Laos for field work (70%)
- identifying new projects in Laos: building networks and relationships with communities, educators and government officials
- evaluating potential target communities in Laos: liaising with community leaders and teachers to obtain information, preparing project documentation and conducting needs analysis
- project and financial planning: establishing cost estimates, time frames, liaising with community leaders and teachers, construction companies and suppliers of building materials
- project implementation and management: conducting field visits in Laos, evaluating and supervising progress against indicators
- organizing activities with beneficiaries on various topics
While staying in our office in Chiang Mai for administration work (30%)
- general office work using computers
- managing work-related payments and receipts
- writing short reports and updates in English
- communicating with other NGOs and government organizations
Required Qualifications
- minimum BA/BSc degree
- Thai or Laotian national
- 0-3 years working experience
- solid IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
- proficiency in Thai or Laotian language and good English language skills
- likes to work with children and likes to travel (occasionally on weekends)
- flexible, creative, outgoing, independent personality with good interpersonal, communication and networking skills
- motivation to work for an NGO
- full driver’s licence
