QUEST Teacher’s Guideline for the K-LINE pilot program
Background
The Quality (cross-border) Education Support in Thailand (QUEST) project aims to ensure conflict-affected children in Karen areas of Southeast Myanmar have access to quality basic education and non-formal education and communities support children’s learning. It is a three-year project generously funded by individual donors in Hong Kong via Save the Children Hong Kong. The QUEST project is implemented in partnership with the Karen Teacher’s Work Group (KTWG), and particularly, their amazing cadre of Mobile Teacher Trainers (MTT). The project targets over 7,000 children enrolled in 300 community schools in Southeast Myanmar.
The Karen Literacy & Numeracy Inclusive Non-Formal Education (K-LINE) pilot is a ten week course planned for early 2019 targeting Out-of-School Children in rural conflict affected Karen areas of Southeast Myanmar. Newly certified teachers from the target geographic areas have been recruited to support the K-LINE pilot program. Key stakeholders in the Karen Education System have drafted a curriculum framework for the K-LINE pilot. We are seeking a consultant with the requisite expertise and experience to create a Teacher’s Guide for the 10 week program that aligns with the curriculum framework. The Teacher’s Guide will include a comprehensive set of daily lesson plans.
