HelpAge International is a global network of not-for-profit organisations. HelpAge mission is to work with our partners to ensure that people everywhere understand how much older people contribute to society and that they must enjoy their right to healthcare, social services and economic and physical security. The East Asia/Pacific Regional Office is now looking for a “Finance Officer” based in Chiang Mai, Thailand (Initial 2 years contract renewable)
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting:
To maintain and administer the office petty cash account
To be responsible for the allocation of travel advances, maintaining and reconciling the accounts.
To be responsible for the cashiering function, ensuring the all banking is undertake promptly and bank records are up-to-date and accurate
To maintain the accounts for all payments made in the Chiang Mai office, making payments and liasing with staff and suppliers.
To produce the EAPRO’s monthly accounts and cash and bank reconciliations (including journals), ensuring the correctness of coding and reconciliations.
Project Reporting (for designated programmes):
To work with Regional Programmes Managers and Project Officer, ensuring correctness of financial reports from member & partners
To work with the relevant staff to produce project budgets and forecasts as required, including the detailed budget sheets (DBSs)
To review and make sure the correctness of partners’ monthly accounts and cash & bank reconciliations for submission into SUN system, for designated countries and programmes
To produce donor reports
To ensure that supporting documentation is compliant with HelpAge & donor requirement
To contribute to the work of internal audit
Project Reporting (for all programmes):
To support on producing the monthly monitoring reports
To support the Regional Finance Manager and Senior Finance Officer in their work regarding the financial management of programmes
Others:
To organise effectively on all financial records and information in the filing system
To conduct the interim and annual verification of the inventory
To contribute to the efficient running of the team by assisting in the development of procedures and the improvement of standards across organisation working in conjunction with the Regional Finance Manager and Senior Finance Officer
To perform other tasks as assigned by the Regional Finance Manager
Qualifications:
Thai national with experiences in accounts especially on above responsibilities
Good command of written and spoken English
Excellent computer skills, particularly Excel
Strong team player and ability to work in multicultural environment
University Degree in accounting or financial management
Salary: 25,000 – 30,000 Baht per month (Negotiable)
