We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of: Associate Director, Business Planning and Proposals based in Bangkok, Thailand
Job Summary / Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, management and technical expertise in Business Development, including the management of proposals led by or supported by the Asia/ Pacific Region and its constituent countries.
Proposal Development
Lead a proposal management team in developing or supporting proposals for new business in the AP region.
Serve as proposal manager for proposals with high strategic value.
Assist key country offices in developing business development and proposal development capacity.
Strategic Business Planning
Work with the Director and Deputy Director of the Asia/Pacific Business Unit in assessing country and regional business opportunity priorities, funder landscape analysis and partnership development and management.
Participate and contribute to global strategic business development planning in coordination with the Director of BPP and sector Business Units.
Prepare Business Development reports and analyses for AP BU and BPP leadership.
Contribute to the identification and analysis of new funding opportunities issued by the US Government (domestic and international), foundations, Global Fund, UN Agencies, and other funders.
Work with the AP Director and the BPP Director developing and maintaining productive relationships with funders, especially US Government, as well as INGO partners.
Expertise and Complexity
Work independently on multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Relevant computer software and analytical skills.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in development and management, including management of assigned personnel and budgets.
Demonstrated technical expertise in one or more sectors of health, research, education, environment, economic development and civil society.
Sensitivity to cultural diversity and understanding of the political and ethical issues in assigned areas.
Knowledge of budgets and contracts.
Routine coordination with FHI 360 employees and consultants, on-site and in the field.
Supervise assigned staff.
Monitor approved budgets for proposal production.
Ability to travel at least 15%.
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree and 8+ years of direct business development experience with international and national regions; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the key responsibilities of the job. Successful candidates in this role typically have at least 12 years of work experience.
Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff.
Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
Prior work in a non-governmental organization (NGO).
