SUMMARY

The Road Safety Project Officer will play a key role implementing the Thai Road Safety Fellowship project. This project aims to collaborate with journalists to promote a greater understanding in Thailand of the road safety risks associated with irresponsible driving techniques and poor adherence to the law, and to provide more and better quality media coverage of this public health concern. Under the supervision of the Thailand Country Representative, the Project Officer oversees implementation of all project activities and is responsible for ensuring quality control and the overall responsiveness of technical assistance under the project.

This position is open to Thai nationals only.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:

• Oversee the management and successful implementation of the project.
• Ensure financial compliance oversight with the Bangkok-based Finance Manager and timely spending of program budgets, reporting to and working with the Business Manager.
• Ensure top level M&E, and cutting edge reporting are built and maintained in coordination with regional and headquarter M&E staff.
• Prepare proposals and reports for donors, assign and supervise additional support to complete such tasks.
• Coordinate communications and workflow among staff and partners.
• Participate in meetings and facilitate communication with primary partners and donors directly or in concert with the Bangkok-based Country Representative and Regional Director.
• Represent organization at various conferences and events, coordinating with the Country Representative on coverage and needs.

 QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional qualification relating to media or international development.
• 3+ years project implementation experience.
• English fluency required.
• Experience or familiarity with road safety initiatives is an advantage.
• Experience with NGOs and working on media and capacity-building programs.
• Knowledge and experience engaging Thai media sector.
• Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple ongoing assignments.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Proven ability to coordinate, manage and motivate staff and healthy ad hoc teams as needed
