As collaborator of the Thailand-Vietnam Socio-Economic Panel (TVSEP) research project, the Thailand National Research Data Collection Center (NRDCC) at Ubon Ratchathani University, in cooperation with Leibniz University Hannover, Germany invites applications for the position of:

Data cleaning team member (1 vacancies)

TVSEP is a research project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and has been carrying out panel surveys since 2007. The project will undertake the seventh panel wave in June/July 2017 among some 1900 rural households in Ubon Ratchathani, Buriram and Nakhon Phanom provinces.

Tasks

The cleaning of household survey data from Thailand using STATA, the work can be performed as a part- time job and most activities can be performed from home.

• Conducting data cleaning following the instructions given by the NRDCC in cooperation with the TVSEP Data Base Manager
• Checking and submitting the results of cleaning step 1 (summary table of outliers and missing cases including corresponding do-files) to the manager of NRDCC
• Checking and submitting the results of cleaning step 2 (cleaned data files including do-files) to the manager of NRDCC
• Perform descriptive statistics at enterprise level (e.g. rice yield, gross income, net income) as well as expenditures, loans, etc., see guidelines
• Summit descriptive statistics to the manager of NRDCC for final assessment and approval of cleaning tasks

Qualifications

Education: Master degree in Agricultural Economics, Economics, other Social Sciences or Agriculture with a strong socioeconomic orientation. Having / pursuing a PhD degree will be an asset.

Experience: Profound knowledge in STATA is prerequisite to actively participate in the cleaning process. Having experience in data cleaning process of socio-economic dataset will be an asset

Others: Be able to participate in an orientation meeting for TVSEP-TH cleaning team at Ubon or Bangkok (to be decided) during the period of 13.01.2018 – 17.01.2018. The cleaning process will start from 20.01.2018 – 20.03.2018.

Offer

The TVSEP-TH data cleaning team member will work as a consultant to the TVSEP project in Ubon Ratachathani. Payment depends on qualification and experience but is based on remuneration for research associate at Thai research organisations.
