II. ORGANIZATIONALCONTEXTANDSCOPE
IOMiscommittedto theprinciplethatsafeandorderlymigrationisa benefitto migrants andsociety, and isessential forachievement oftheMillennium DevelopmentGoals.Asa globalintergovernmentalorganization,IOMsupports governmentstoeffectivelymanagethevariouschallengesrelatedtomigration,and alsoprovidesassistancetomigrants.In thehealthsector,thisinvolvesactingasa technicalagencytoaddressnationalprioritiesandasanimplementingagencywhich partnerswithgovernment,communities,andotheragenciesto strengthenhealth systemstomeettheneedsofhard‐toreachmobilepopulations,migrants,andtheir localhostcommunities.
Withinthecontextof promotingsafermigration,IOM’sEasternMyanmarhealth programmeis comprisedofseveralprojectsthatextendthereachof government health systems to locations which host internal migrantsand are also transit, source, and return communities for international migrants. IOM’s programme involvesclosepartnershipwithgovernmentcounterpartsand buildscapacityof partners and migrant hosting communities for health promotion, diagnostics, referral,treatment,andforextensionof servicedeliverytovulnerablegroups.The comprehensive package addresses key health challenges faced by migrants, includingmaternalandchildhealth,tuberculosis,HIV/AIDS,malaria,andin some locationsprimarycare.
UndertheoverallsupervisionoftheHeadofSub‐OfficeinMyawaddyandthedirect supervisionofMedicalOfficer(HIV/TB) inclosecoordination withotherfunctional unitofMyawaddySub‐Office,theincumbentwillcarryoutthefollowingdutiesand responsibilities:
III.RESPONSIBILITIESANDACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Responsible for the management of the main medical stores in Myawaddy sub‐ officeaswellasthemonitoring andsupervisionofsub‐stocksinsub‐storesofIOM mobile units, microscopy units, with RDT volunteer, and elsewhere in the programme.
2.Regularlyupdatepharmaceutical andnon‐pharmaceutical stocksinmainstoresand sub‐storesandsubmittosupervisorsmonthly.
3. Reportandtakeappropriateactionsforthedisposalofwastesand/expiredmedical commodities or drug‐exchange programme for those which are closed to be expired.
4. AssistMedicalOfficersandMigrationHealthProgramme Associates inpreparation ofquarterlyprocurementplanandsemi‐annual/monthly workplans.
5. Responsible for reception of pharmaceutical and non‐pharmaceutical supplies
procured andtransported fromIOMMonMainstore/YangonIOMOfficeinclose coordinationwithYangonHealthandLogisticsteams.
6. Responsible for the delivery of pharmaceutical and non‐pharmaceutical supplies uponmonthlymedicalordersrequestedby IOM’sMU/RDTunitsapprovedby supervisorsincoordinationwiththeSeniorLogisticsAssistant.
7. Supervise the loading and off‐loading of stocks and report on any damage or
discrepancies.
8. Makeperiodicphysicalinventorychecksofpharmaceutical andnon‐pharmaceutical suppliesinmainstoresandsubstoresunderthesupervisionoftheMedicalofficers.
9. ProvideoverallsupervisionofMedicalStorekeeperondaytodayperformance.
10.PerformotherdutiesasmaybeassignedbyIOM.
