A Thai NGO providing appropriate humanitarian assistance to displaced persons in Thailand and also assisting in relief operations for those affected by natural disasters. For over 30 years, our organization has been working in temporary shelters along the Thai-Burmese border provinces of Mae Hong Son, Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi under The Ministry of Interior's approval.
COEER is urgently seeking for Program Social Worker based in Kanchanaburi Field Office
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify, assess and monitor the needs of at-risk and vulnerable groups among the refugee communities, their access to services and their existing and potential resources in responding to these needs.
- Facilitate/provide relevant services for refugees, particularly the Extremely Vulnerable Individuals (EVI) and children at risk in accordance with COERR program guidelines.
- Provide/facilitate training and technical assistance to Community Service Workers on needs assessment and monitoring, programming for protection and caring support.
- Provide/facilitate the training and technical assistance needs of local resource groups for family-based services; community support; community-service and self-help activities,
- Coordinate and collaborate with community social workers (CSWs)& community based organization (CBO) on children related matters to contribute to build up a child protection network in the refugee camps. Children in Need of Special Protection (CNSP) must be referred to the Child Focal Point PSW.
- Establish and maintain coordination with partner NGOs in the camps, camp officials and committees, government officer and local resource group in the provision of care giving and support service for refugee children at risk and vulnerable.
- Strengthen community social worker (CSW) capacity in identifying, referring and following-up cases of children in need of protection and psychosocial assistance
- Provide/facilitate training to community social worker (CSW) & community based organization (CBO).
- Perform other duties assigned by the Field Manager.
- Qualifications:
Thai Nationality
- Bachelor degree in social work, child psychology or related field
At least 1 years experience in social work or related field
• Experience working with refugees or displaced peoples is an advantage
• Ability to communicate in English and Karen will be a distinct advantage. Thai language skills are necessary.
• Ability to work as part of a team and in a multicultural setting
- Willingness to work in conditions that can be difficult
