About Migrant Education (ME)
Migrant Education (ME) formed in July 2011 as an umbrella organization for a number of migrant learning centers (MLCs), to coordinate funding and look at other areas to assist migrant children accessing education in Mae Sot, Thailand.
Since 2013 ME has been liaising closely with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) on their Early Childhood Development (ECD) approaches and, with them, has developed a relationship with Mae Pa Sub-district Administrative Office to explore provisions under Thai law for access to Child Care Development Centers (CCDCs) in Mae Pa. Successful completion of this level provides a certificate allowing children to enroll in any kindergarten in Thailand.
With this pre-school area accounting for the single largest group of children in MLCs in Mae Sot, it is clear that increased provision at this level will reduce barriers for accessing accredited primary level education, subsequently increasing inclusion in civil society.
ME is now initiating a pilot program aimed at increasing the capacity of two CCDCs in Mae Pa. It is envisaged that this pilot program will form the basis for further investment in enhancing capacity by the local administrative sub-district office, as future demand requires.
Overview of Role
Mae Pa Sub-district Administrative Office is located in Mae Sot District, Tak, and is the authority with obligations in the development of various fields, including education. It promotes, supports and supervises education for early childhood development. Mae Pa Sub-district Administrative Office has 2 Child Care Development Centers (CCDCs) providing development & learning for both Thai and non-Thai national children aged 2-4.
Mae Pa Sub-district Administrative Office is working with Migrant Education (ME) to directly enroll young non-Thai national children, aged 2-4 years old, into Thai CCDCs. Language Assistants will work at the CCDCs to help the teachers communicate with non-Thai national children and their parents who are Burmese speakers.
The role includes:
Assisting with coordination, as required, between the CCDCs, parents and the community
Supporting Thai teachers with communication and teaching the children who are not native Thai speakers
Taking care of the learning needs of non-Thai children
Any additional duties required
We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have:
Eligibility to work in Thailand (Thai citizens or non-Thai citizens with necessary documentation to apply for work permits)
A high school degree
Strong Thai and Burmese language skills
At least 20 year old
Additional consideration will be given to candidates who have:
Previous experience working in early childhood care
Translating/interpreting experience between Thai &Burmese languages
Qualifications in a relevant field
Residency in Mae Pa sub-district or Mae Sot

This position is open to persons of any nationality who are able to obtain the correct documentation to work in Thailand. Work permits will be provided by Mae Pa Sub-district Administrative Office.

Overview
องค์การบริหารส่วนตำบลแม่ปะ (อบต.แม่ปะ) ได้ทำงานร่วมกับ องค์กร Migrant Education (ME) ซึ่งเป็นองค์กรพัฒนาเอกชน ด้านการศึกษา ใน อ.แม่สอด เพื่อสนับสนุนให้เด็กที่ไม่มีสัญชาติไทย ที่มีอายุระหว่าง 2-4 ปี ให้สามารถเข้าเรียน ในศูนย์การเรียนเด็กเล็กที่อยู่ภายใต้การสนับสนุนขององค์การบริหารส่วนตำบลแม่ปะ ผู้ช่วยครูผู้สอนจะทำงานการสอน ณ ศูนย์เด็กประจำตำบลแม่ปะ โดย ทำหน้าที่ช่วยครูผู้สอนในการสื่อสารกับเด็กและผู้ปกครองเด็ก ที่ไม่สามารถสื่อสารภาษาไทยได้
หน้าที่/ความรับผิดชอบ:
มีส่วนร่วมในการประสาน ระหว่างศูนย์การเรียนเด็กเล็ก ผู้ปกครองเด็ก และชุมชน ตามที่ได้รับการประสาน
สนับสนุนการทำงานร่วมกับครูผู้ส่วนในการ สื่อสารกับเด็กเล็กที่ไม่สามารถสื่อสารภาษาไทยได้
สนับสนุนช่วยเหลือ ปฏิบัติงานอื่น ร่วมกับครูผู้ดูแลเด็ก
