Public Fundraising Officer (Re-post)

Contract: one-year fixed term contract, with possibility of extension, subject to availability of funds

The Organization
ActionAid is an international organisation, working with over 25 million people in more than 40 countries for a world free from poverty and injustice. ActionAid Thailand (AAT) is part of the ActionAid International Federation and has been working with people and communities in Thailand for a decade addressing issues related to poverty, human rights, education, and women’s and youth’s empowerment.
The Position:
The Public Fundraising officer is responsible for developing and managing Public fundraising/Acquisition programs which aims to grow AAT's base of supporters through recruiting new supporters and engaging existing supporters to deliver increased voluntary income. The activities include managing the external agency, monitoring and reporting on campaign performance, supporter communications and supporter care.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising
- Develop and Manage Public fundraising/Acquisition programs, such as Special Events etc.
- Work with external Agencies, Organizers, Entities and Individuals to develop & implement Public Fundraising Programs.
- Work with the Programme and Communications teams to develop fundraising products, collaterals and propositions to target new supporters.
- Contribute to developing ways to maximize fundraising and community engagement when an emergency appeal is launched.
- Monitor external market trends to keep up to date with innovative fundraising and marketing techniques and industry best practice.
- Ensure that supporters are updated with any changes to fundraising best practice, charity law and brand.
System, Policies and Procedures Management
- Ensure that public fundraising records are kept in accordance to data protection requirements and best practise
- Adhere/Comply with approved organisational policies and procedures
Organisational and Corporate Development/ Representation
- Give presentations and act as a spokesperson for the organisation where required (e.g. supporter group workshops, volunteer recruitment events, employee fundraising events)
Strategy Development and Implementation
- Contribute to strategic decision making within AAT, particularly in relation to the public fundraising programme and maximising voluntary income raised from individuals.
Budgeting and Planning
- Provide inputs to the annual budget development
- Forecast income and expenditure levels for own areas of work and monitor these against budget and forecast
- Meet regularly with line manager to review progress of activities and update plans
Programme Reviews, Monitoring, Evaluation, Programme Learning and Reporting
- Monitor progress against activity work plan and fundraising KPIs to ensure that the organisation attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible and meets its fundraising targets
- Ensure reporting to supporters is in line with agreed supporters communications
Issue Resolutions, Crisis/Risk Management
- Maintain an awareness of any possible crisis or risk to the organisation and develop plans that will provide for such contingencies
Qualification & Experience
- Thai nationality with good English communication skills
- Bachelor Degree in marketing or any relevant field
- At least 5 years relevant experience
- Experienced in Marketing, Events Management and Retention.
- Experienced of digital marketing and social media
- Experienced in managing external agencies/suppliers
- Experienced in budgeting & Planning
- Good understanding of marketing and public fundraising
