CHILD PROTECTION SPECIALIST

COERR (Catholic Office for Emergency Relief and Refugees), a Thai NGO providing humanitarian assistance to refugees at the Thai-Burma border is urgently seeking a CHILD PROTECTION SPECIALIST to:

• Provide professional technical support for COERR's child protection services in the refugee camps.
• Provide guidance and technical support to COERR Social Workers to raise their effectiveness on case management
• Provide/facilitate training for COERR Social Workers (Program Officers and Refugee Staff)
• Reinforce standard methodology and manual for child protection interventions and strengthen COERR's case management system
• Strengthen the Child Protection Referral System (CPRS) in the camps
• Coordinate/interface with UNHCR Field Offices
• Coordinate with other organizations/forums engaged in child protection services.
• Provide guidance and coaching to COERR Social Workers to raise effectiveness on case management
• Coordinate Training Workshops
• Contribute to advocacy and networking

Qualifications:

• At least Bachelor’s degree in social work, child psychology, child devcelopment
• Experience in case management
• Knowledge of refugee camp environment, culture and norms
• Available to travel and work in all 9 refugee camps along the Thai-Burma border
• Ability to provide/facilitate training to Social Workers
• Fluency in English speaking and writing is required.
• Knowledge of Karen/Karenni/Burmese would be a strong advantage
• License/Certification for Social Work (ผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพสังคมสงเคราะห์รับอนุญาต, พนักงานเจ้าหน้าที่คุ้มครองเด็กตามพรบ คุ้มครองเด็ก) will be a distinct advantage
