Job Purpose - Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Budgeting & reporting
- Under the guidance of the Thailand BSM to be responsible for generating budget variance reports and providing analysis to relevant budget holders.
- Under the guidance of the BSM to be responsible for generating first pass Year end accounts for the Thailand projects.
- To assist the BSM in the producing of annual Thailand country e budgets and the forecasts.
Financial Accounting for Thailand country Programme
- Supervise the Finance Assistant to help prepare payments and make financial accounting entries
- Oversee the processing of Thailand invoices and expense payments to Oxfam’s standard procedures and statutory requirements.
- Upload all authorised payments and journal transactions onto Peoplesoft in accordance with accounting standards.
- Prepare payroll for authorisation in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Process tax and other statutory benefits, make payments and maintain records accordingly.
- Process Thailand country top-ups and payment requests, keep up to date Thailand cash balance and maintain Thailand petty cash. Prepare monthly Bank reconciliations.
- Responsible for reconciliation of fixed asset listings, floats, advances, debtors and liabilities on monthly and annual basis to organisational timetable in consultation with FA.
- Contribute to finance team meetings, highlighting where areas of improvements can be made.
- Contribute to the development of improved financial procedures on the Thailand Country programme
Financial Accounting for hosted functions and entities in the Bangkok office
- Process payroll, expenses, invoice payments, tax payments etc on behalf of other functions according to the terms of the Service Level Agreements
- Ensure appropriate recharges and financial ledger postings made in respect of these services
Technical Skills, Experience & Knowledge
- Recognized qualification or part qualification in accounting related study (such as CAT)
- Experience of working for NGOs
- 5 years minimum experience of Book keeping
- Good computer skills including financial software and excel proficiency.
- Sound numerical and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the aims and objectives of Oxfam.
- Commitment to women rights
- Thai nationality
