C. Organizational Background:
ADRA is a global network of independent humanitarian organizations established in 1984 by the Seventh Day Adventist Church for the specific purpose of providing individual and community development and disaster relief. ADRA Thailand works with people in poverty and distress to create just and positive change through empowering partnerships and responsible action. ADRA Thailand has served vulnerable and marginalized people in Thailand through community development initiatives targeting Food Security, Economic Development, Primary Health and Education. ADRA Thailand is also providing vocational training to refugees Myanmar who are residing in 7 refugee camps along Thai-Burma border.

D. Project Background:
The project's overall objective is to strengthen and empower marginalized and vulnerable migrant workers in Mae Sot, Tak Province, Thailand. The project aims to strengthen capacity of local Civil Society Organizations (CSO)s both Thai and Migrant Workers-led organizations, to be able to effectively advocate for the improvement of labor and human rights of vulnerable migrants in Mae Sot. It also focuses on strengthening the collaboration between Royal Thai Government (RTG) and CSOs in order to maintain strong partnership for migrant advocacy network. ADRA will achieve this by building the capacity of the local CSOs to engage in policy dialogue through the INGO platforms and engagement with the private sector, and government duty bearers. ADRA will provide sub-grants to 8 CSOs to implement labor rights/occupational health activities to build CSOs’ capacity as well as improving the health and safety conditions for migrant workers.

E. Financial support provided to final applicant: 30,315 EURO
|

F. Expected Result and Main Activities:
The financial support provided to the selected CSO is expected to contribute to the following result: · Financial support to 1 CSO, to manage a fund to facilitate eight (8) CSOs to participate in local and national networks’ meetings through the provision of technical and financial support from ADRA: ADRA will provide financial support to members of the target CSOs, in order to enable them to participate in local and national networks’ meetings. The financial scheme is expected to cover their transportation cost and logistic-related in case of their travelling to Bangkok and other provinces to participate the network meetings.
The selected CSO will be able to carry out the following activities: · Assess and select eight (8) CSOs based in Mae Sot that is eligible for financial support to attend network meetings; · Provide financial support to eight (8) CSOs to participate in local and national networks’ meetings (72 meetings in Mae Sot and 36 meetings in Bangkok; · Review, verify, and reimburse eligible travel and logistic costs from 8 CSOs; · Maintain meeting related records, meeting agenda, minutes, attendance sheet, etc. · Responsible for operating direct assistant fund.

G. Target to achieve for the final applicant: Support 8 CSOs to attend 72 meetings in Mae Sot and 36 meetings in Bangkok by the end of December 2018.

H. Project Period: 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2018, MOU signed annually based on performance.

The financial support provided to the selected CSO is expected to contribute to the following result: · Provide financial support to 1 CSO to develop and produce 5,000 of multilingual (Thai and Burmese) information materials on occupational health, work safety, and hygiene in order to increase awareness in target groups and their relatives: CSO partners will receive financial support to develop and produce Information, Education, Communication (IEC) materials such as poster, leaflet, and banner both in Thai and Myanmar language to disseminate the practical information to the migrant communities.
The selected CSO will be able to carry out the following activities: · Seek advice on contents for IEC materials from technical advisory committee consisting staff from ADRA Thailand, Mae Sot Hospital, Labor Protection Office, the Federation of Thailand Industries; · Develop and produce IEC materials on occupational health, work safety and hygiene in forms of poster, leaflet, and banner in both Thai and Myanmar language; · Distribute IEC materials during the outreach activity and other related activities in factories and migrant communities; · Responsible for operating direct assistant fund.
