Program Unit Child Protection Manager

Position: Program Unit (PU) Child Protection Manager
Assignment Type: Renewable three year contract

Job background: The PU Child Protection Manager will oversee the timely and quality implementation of all child proteciton projects in the Chiang Rai PU. S/He will play a large role in rolling out child protection projects that are well planned, evidence based, and monitored regularly. Other aspects of the role include partnership management, annual planning & budgeting, representation and liaison at the Provincial level. S/He will also develop capabilities of Plan staff and partners to support the achievement of child protection goals. The program will focus on community-based child protection work and birth registration. This position is based full-time in Chiang Rai with 60% field travel.
Job purpose: Implementation of child protection PU projects in cooperation with project staff and others • Build capacity of partners as required • Annual planning • Monitor implementation of child protection projects • Insure reporting and project related donor requirements are timely and of a high quality • Facilitate learning and knowledge management • Represent Plan Thailand at the PU level on issues related to child protection • Liaison with local Government regarding child protection projects.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Citizen of Thailand • Minimum three years of demonstrated professional experience leading and managing Child Protection projects • Experience working with local NGOs • Good knowledge of community development • Experience in implementing donor-funded projects • Track record of participation, training, facilitation and awareness raising • Experience of working with children and communities is an advantage • Academic degree in relevant area • Strong team-building and facilitation skills • Excellent communication skills • Proficient in computer skills • English an added advantage.
