The Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), established in 1986, is a regional non- profit foundation with headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand supporting the advancement of safer communities and sustainable development, through implementing programs that reduce the impact of disasters upon countries and communities in Asia and the Pacific. The primary geographical focus of ADPC’s activities is Asia with the South, South East and East Asia being the primary sub-regions. Further details on ADPC and Programs can be found at www.adpc.net. Resilient Businesses (large corporations, SMEs and MSMEs) are crucial part of the safer communities and societies. The long term economic efficiency of investment in disaster risk reduction has become very evident in recent years. Thailand, which suffered severe flooding in 2011 and continue to face a range of risks from climate change created a built environment since 2012 that acted as a turning point for attitudes and action in terms of business continuity management and that large corporations and the local businesses are becoming more resilient and attractive to future business investment. The iPrepare Business facility at the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) with technical and financial support from GIZ, ADB, and JICA has been implementing initiatives to build disaster-resilient businesses in the region, by partnering with large corporation and working with SMEs to strengthen their disaster and climate resilience and providing technical assistance on a demand-driven basis. It has been supporting the efforts of the Royal Thai Government through the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP), the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) and the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), Ministry of Interior in creating a good environment that promotes risk sensitive and informed investments by private sector. |

Statement of Intent: The Consultant on private sector resilience will be assisting the iPrepare Business facility team to document and disseminate the current work in Thailand. By utilizing its expertise, it is expected that the Consultant will complete the final products of the JICA supported project in Thai and English language. |

Required Qualifications/ Selection Criteria: - PhD/Master degree in social sciences, business administration, economics, public policy or disaster risk reduction/management or equivalent - Good analytical and writing skills in Thai and English. The applicant should be Thai nationality only - Proficient in the use of MS Office, artwork and internet-based programs General Requirements: - Self-starter, willingness to lead and contribute - Have future plan for disaster risk reduction and private sector related work |

Duties and Responsibilities: - Review, understand and finalize the JICA, ADB, GIZ supported project outputs such as capacity building materials, business continuity plans etc. - Providing technical inputs for assignments/programs (analytical, field, experimental support, database development etc.) - Developing, taking part in project/program proposals on private sector engagement in DRM and related fields and identify potential donors - Coordinating with appropriate partners regarding project planning, monitoring and implementation general requirements - Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor |

Remarks: If the regular staff position becomes available the candidate with satisfied performance will be considered for the position. |

Reporting Relationship: - Reports directly to the Department Head of the DRMS department - Works closely with iPrepare Business team and other staff of ADPC |
