Background
As the world’s population grows, the way we grow food and harvest natural resources like fish and timber is having more impact on Earth’s ecological balance, biodiversity, and wild spaces than ever before. In order to address these growing impacts, WWF launched its Sustainable Market Initiative (SMI) in 2009 to change the way that global commodities are produced, traded, and bought, with the aim of making sustainable production the norm. WWF concentrates on 15 commodities that have the greatest impacts on biodiversity, water, and climate, particularly in the most important places for conservation.

WWF-Thailand started its Sustainable Market work in 2013 and this has become an increasingly important part of our work in the last two years. WWF-Thailand now has a team of four people working directly in the fisheries sector and will be adding staff to focus on the transformation of selected forest and agricultural commodities.
WWF is seeking a highly motivated, capable candidate with working knowledge of supply chain mapping, certification schemes for sustainable production, and experience working with the private sector, government agencies, and other NGOs.
