Cultural Canvas Thailand (CCT) is a non-governmental organization working in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand. We operate two programs. The first is a volunteer abroad program that connects international volunteers to local organizations in need of assistance. The second is Art Relief International (ARI), an artistic outreach program. ARI uses visual arts, drama, dance and music to help struggling social groups and to raise awareness of their plight.
The art program works with a diversity of people and focuses on a variety of social issues. You will have an opportunity to work with various populations including: Burmese refugees, indigenous hill tribes groups, single mothers, children with disabilities, and children from a local orphanage.
During the three-month probation period, you will be provided accommodations and a stipend. After reviewing your performance, your stipend may be increased. In order to excel in this position, you must be a highly-motivated individual with initiative to work effectively both independently and within a group, enjoy being involved in numerous projects, and have experience working with both children and volunteers in a wide age range. Your job will include managing staff, outreach, networking, volunteer coordination, fundraising, writing and research, accounting, curriculum development, and grant writing.
During your time with CCT, you will be working with the Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
Daily Responsibilities include email correspondence with prospective volunteers and interns, reception of volunteer applications and follow-ups with references, maintenance of social media streams, and assisting the Executive Director with volunteer management.
Ongoing responsibilities include creating the monthly Cultural Canvas Thailand/ Art Relief International newsletter, updating volunteer listings on all marketing websites, site visits and correspondence with all partner organizations, continuous research on possible grants, press releases and texts for publication, researching and seeking new partner organizations, assisting the Art Director with fundraisers and gallery shows, assisting the Art Relief Program as needed, and some accounting.
