Key Responsibilities: The Business Support Assistant serves as the point person for the products and services teams and will be responsible for the following duties: 

-Maintain hard and electronic office files and records;

-Draft routine correspondence, memoranda and reports. Format more complex documents by using the appropriate technology.

Qualifications:

 

Education:
Minimum secondary school education, including or supplemented by courses related to the area of work.     

 

Experience:

 

Four or more years of progressively responsible work experience in the relative business stream with experience in general administrative work. Working knowledge of WFP/UN administrative policies and procedures is an added advantage

 

Knowledge:

Key Responsibilities: Within this role, the Programme Policy Officer for Social Protection’s duties fall into four broad categories: 

1.Policy, research and analysis:

-Undertake research, compile and analyze information on country experiences related to the extension of safety nets and essential services for food security and nutrition;

-Distill lessons learned and good practice, identify implementation challenges and results;

-Identify opportunities for programme and policy work;

-Provide written inputs into research papers, reports and strategy documents on social protection, and in particular the extension of social safety nets for food security and nutrition in selected countries;

-Specifically, provide support to research on School Feeding/School Meals globally and recommendations for its application in the Asia Pacific region.

2.Knowledge and information sharing:

-Maintain a WFP regional knowledge and information sharing platform on social protection and help manage related information exchange and discussions among country offices;

-Assist in organizing workshops and seminars.

3.Field support:

-Assist in providing technical support to country offices for the design, implementation and evaluation of social safety net programmes and broader international efforts to strengthen national social protection systems in the region;

-Provide support to design of School Feeding/School Meals programme as well as funding proposals for various donors;

-Participate in technical missions and assist in technical backstopping, project implementation and monitoring of safety net programmes during emergencies remotely and through temporary in-country deployments;

-Assist in the implementation of the regional gender action plan and gender mainstreaming activities in close collaboration with the Regional Gender Advisor;

Draft relevant sections of project documents, fundraising proposals and progress reports.

Key Responsibilities (Continue):

4.Partnerships:

-Support inter-agency collaboration and work on social safety nets (cash or in-kind food) to guarantee food security and adequate nutrition and access to essential services;

-Prepare one-pagers and background briefs on the promotion of social protection, especially social safety nets for WFP representation in important events.

5.Other Duties: Undertake other related duties, as may be assigned by the line manager and/or the Senior Programme Policy Advisor.

Qualifications:

Education:
Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance, or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.

Experience & skills:

-At least five years of experience and progressive responsibility in technical assistance, policy analysis and guidance, and/or operational experience in the field of social protection, including international experience in the Asia region.

-Technical knowledge or familiarity with food security and nutrition issues through practical exposure to these terms.

-Experience undertaking research, producing user-friendly technical guidance, and/or policy documents on social protection and safety nets is highly desirable.

-Experience with a UN organization in social protection/social policy/safety nets is highly desirable.

-Excellent command of English (oral and writing) as well as analytical skills are critical for this job.

Key Responsibilities: The Regional Senior Administration Associate will provide dedicated support to the Regional Administration Officer, while coordinating support to Country Offices and Regional Office staff for their learning and development and also extending support to the Regional Medical Officer and Regional Staff Counsellor, and will be responsible for the following duties: 

-Coordinate and facilitate the training of WFP Corporate Programmes i.e. ARCHIBUS, GEMS, FleetWave, Travel.

-Promote and support, Staff welfare in the bureau and region in collaboration with the Occupational Safety and Health focal point, the corporate OSH policy.

-Lead and embed a culture of environmental sustainability throughout WFP by role modelling actions that drive sustainability in all administrative activities.

-Regionally Coordinate, monitor and process administrative actions related to procurement, finance, human resources, etc., including contracts with external vendors, to ensure all data is accurately and timely recorded, processed in WFP corporate systems and any operational issues addressed.

The Driver will provide efficient and safe transportation of authorized personnel and/or commodities. The Driver will drive variety of makes and models of vehicles and may involve basic administrative assistance in the office.

Key Responsibilities: Driver reports to the Administration Officer, within delegated authority, the job holder will be responsible for the following duties:

-Provide transportation of authorized personnel including translation of basic conversations from/to the local language, and/or delivery of various items/commodities following authorized routing and UN safety and security rules and regulations to ensure safe and efficient services.

-Meet official personnel and visitors at the airport or other entry points and provide basic assistance with visa and customs formalities to facilitate smooth and safe entry and arrival to the authorised destinations. 

-Responsible for accurate maintenance of the vehicle log books, and daily reporting to the supervisor on mechanical status, to ensure efficient vehicle use and fuel consumption supporting accurate accounting and cost-efficiency.  

-Responsible that the assigned vehicle is kept clean and in a good condition including all equipment, the maintenance is done on time, vehicle is fully equipped with required travel authorisations and supplies, and any mechanical issues are reported to the supervisor to ensure safe and efficient services.

-Follow established rules and regulations for field deliveries and/or in cases of an accident, and report immediately to the supervisor on any apparent problems, to seek for instructions and facilitate informative decisions on the way forward.

-Outside driving duties, perform basic office related tasks such as filing, photocopying and maintaining stores when required including delivery/collection of various items, mailing service and payment of office telephone and other bills to ensure administrative support to clients.

-Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education:
Completion of secondary school education. Formal drivers training with a valid driver’s license/ certification to operate assigned vehicle following local rules and regulations. 

Experience:

-Two or more years of work experience as a Driver, preferably in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a demonstrated safe driving record.

-Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles. Experience in defensive driving is desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:  

-Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies, local roads/waterways and conditions, and security issues.

-Knowledge of the vehicle loading capacity and other parameters.

-Knowledge of safety standards and safety equipment.

-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
