Graphic Design Consultant

The Asia Foundation, a nonprofit international development organization committed to improving lives across a dynamic and developing Asia, is seeking a qualified short-term consultant to provide ad-hoc graphic design services to the regional Conflict and Development unit.

Candidates should be professionals with specific graphic design expertise, including but not limited to design and in-text lay-out expertise for promotional products, public publications and reports. Previous relevant experience for donor audiences and on development issues is preferred.

Qualifications

Relevant qualification/s in graphic design or a closely related field such as photography or illustration.

A minimum of 3 years of graphic design expertise and/or experience in producing print media publications.

Proven technical experience and demonstrated skills in graphic design for print media and promotional items including design, layout, in-text formatting and graphics.

A demonstrated eye for detail and consistency is preferred, as is the ability to work efficiently and to tight timeframes.

Proven effectiveness in balancing client preferences with optimal design outcomes.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.

Previous experience with promotional publications or producing reports for donor audiences or on development issues is preferred.

Familiarity with The Asia Foundation’s design and branding preferences is desirable.

Capacity to already be based in Thailand is desirable.

Good command of spoken and written English is desirable.

Essential Skills

All candidates must be able to demonstrate technical expertise and demonstrated skills in graphic design for print media, particularly promotional products. Excellent consulting and client management skills are required including: interpersonal and organisational skills, good command of English and an ability to work efficiently and to tight deadlines.

Desirable skills include but are not limited to: previous experience on publications or reports for donor audiences, familiarity and experience working on development-related publications or reports, and familiarity The Asia Foundation’s preferences for design and branding. Capacity to already be based in Thailand is desirable.
