Organization Overview
Community Partners Thailand Foundation (CPTF) responds to the evolving needs of vulnerable and underserved communities across Thailand, operating with a commitment to humanitarian principles, community empowerment, and sustainable development.
Role Overview
The Finance & Accounting Officer manages day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, effective internal controls, regulatory compliance, and timely financial reporting. As CPTF is a developing organization, this role also involves contributing to the improvement of CPTF's financial policies, internal controls, accounting systems, and reporting mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-Day Finance & Accounting: Process payments, reimbursements, and financial transactions; check invoices and receipts; manage cash and bank transactions (including reconciliation); support payroll and tax payments; maintain an organized financial filing system.
- Budget Monitoring & Control: Monitor expenses against approved budgets, prepare Budget vs. Actual (BVA) reports, track cash flow/forecasts, and ensure adherence to internal controls and policies.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management financial reports and donor reports; assist in budget preparation and financial planning.
- Partner & Grant Financial Management: Coordinate with partner organizations, review partner financial reports/documents, and provide guidance or financial monitoring for project grants.
- Systems & Compliance: Help refine financial policies, ensure compliance with Thai laws and donor requirements, support audits, and identify financial risks.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Professional accounting qualifications/certifications is an advantage.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and/or financial management.
- Strongly preferred: Experience in non-profit organizations, NGOs, foundations, social enterprises, or donor-funded projects.
- Experience with project budgets, grant management, and partner organizations.
- Experience setting up or refining financial systems in a developing organization is highly desirable.
- Skills: Ability to handle multiple project budgets/deadlines simultaneously and balance strict financial control with practical field operations.
- Languages:
- Thai: Excellent written and spoken Thai.
- English: Good working proficiency (for reports, correspondence, and reading donor guidelines).
- Burmese/Myanmar: Knowledge of the language or experience working along the Thailand-Myanmar border is an advantage, but not required.
